Tracey Nixon has been named the new principal of P.S. Jones Middle School.

    Tracey Nixon has been named the new principal of P.S. Jones Middle School. Nixon, who has been at the school since 2000, was approved for the position by the Beaufort County Board of Education during Monday night's regular scheduled meeting.

    Nixon began her career as a middle grades language arts teacher at P.S. Jones Middle School in 2000. She has served the school as an assistant principal since August of 2007. Nixon replaces Dale Cole who recently transferred to the principal position at Chocowinity Middle School.

    In other personnel news, Darryl Thomas will be joining the administrative team at Washington High School as an assistant principal on February 21. Thomas comes to the system from Pitt County where he taught Business and Computer Technology, most recently at E.B. Aycock Middle School.
