Occasionally you hear about the passing of a musician you never heard of. One of the most remarkable things about the music business is that some of the most talented people are never front stage. Many are either session layers or band members who just provide the foundation for the star to shine.

It has been said that you need to have lived the blues to sing the blues. I am not sure I agree with that but when it comes to Jazz, I do think you have to live it to play and sing it. Al Jarreau did just that.
