When I orignially posted the article on the passing of Fats Domino, I had hopes that it would generate some comments from Alex J. Ortolano who was raised in New Orleans. I doubt that anyone not born and raised in New Orleans could capture the musical magic that was that city.

It's been several years since my mom passed away, and I think of her often still, but especially around Mother's Day. We either took her out for her day or had her over for dinner, so there's always a bit of a hole in Mother's Day weekend nowadays.

I do not know how most people mark the passage of time in their lives. I suspect that like me they do it with memories, birthdays and anniversaries. Nevertheless, there are some reminders for us pack racks that crop up from time to time.
