Until you have felt the sting of miscarried justice and been in a bad and filthy jail, you have no compassion for those in our County Jail right now! How many citizens have spent the night there and eaten the food to see what it really is???

The National Mobile Disaster Hospital that deployed from North Carolina on May 1 to tornado-ravaged Louisville, Miss., opened Monday to patients. The opening was greeted by fanfare and a walk-through by Gov. Philip Bryant and federal, state and local dignitaries.

Governor Pat McCrory announced that North Carolina's Mobile Disaster Hospital is being sent to Mississippi to provide medical support to a community whose 41-bed hospital, medical clinics and only nursing home was destroyed by the tornadoes on Monday.

Since Raleigh legalized food trucks a year ago, 18 have been permitted to operate in 11 locations. After receiving only positive feedback about the roaming restaurants, city council now is considering opening up a few more places for them to park.

On May 19, 2011 at approximately 9:23 a.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a structure fire on Jack’s Street in Mimosa Mobile Home Park in Washington. Deputies and fire fighters responded to the location to find an uninhabited singlewide home in flames.
