Commented on North Carolina's Stand on Safe Bathrooms /Locker Rooms keeps "The Boss" from Performing in GreensboroOne more thing, from a musical standpoint, "The Boss", has been lagging for about 2 decades. He is only still relevant, because people like me, and Governor Christie still forgive his Simple Liberal ass for the stupid stuff he often says or does.
If it were not for his first 3 albums: "Greetings from Asbury Park", The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle" and "Born to Run", all completed before 1975, who would care ... either way.

Did you come up with this, because this is damn funny. I especially liked the whole "keyhole" analogy. What some stupid corporate CEO's and "artists", and other Liberals don't understand is that there is huge cost component to politically correct Authoritarianism Ergo, Liberals can't do math.

At BCN, we publish all contributions, regardless of all subject matter, providing that the contributor believes it to be true. That is all we ask.
I don't read every contribution, but, on this occasion, since it is about a web based controversy, I thought: This may be interesting. Suffice it to say, we, at SNI and BCN take web development, coding and dealing with databases very seriously, and when I read that "Dr." Ken Robol is their lead authority, I have to wonder: How seriously does the NC GOP take that piece of their outreach - the internet? Obviously, they do not know very much. So, I checked out their sites, and guess what: They need a lot of work, and they are nowhere near the level that we would provide our clients at that level of money paid out for such a service rendered. I don't know who did their site, but I do know that "Dr." Ken Robol did this one: boswell4nchouse.com If this is top professional work by your standards, whoever you are, then the valued work that we provide at SNI would be probably lost on you. But know this: If this level of work comprises what is the essence of your site, and we were to do your competitor's site, be it politics or especially business, and your competitor is diligent to follow our advice, while using our superior product, then his presence on the internet will devastate you and your message. Hey, it works every time. There are different levels of aptitude in this field. Having Dr. by your name, obviously, does not make much difference.

Commented on Dueling Hits - Mickey Newberry Singer and SongwriterI just had to watch the "Just Dropped In". I saw these same guys in 1970 at ECU. It was my first of many rock concerts. "The Big Lebowski" helped make this tune legendary for a whole new generation.
It was nice seeing Tunie from "Northern Exposure" out front on the drums.

Commented on What’s up with Names?I was just thing: How nice it would be to have another Foolishness post.
As a reluctant Williams Shakespeare fan: Sometimes it does matter in the 'naming of the odoriferous rose'. Words have a certain propriety, especially the naming of people. One of the things that I have noticed over the years is just how few words, and the multiple connotations of words that the public at large have so little knowledge of.

Commented on Shocking: Jennifer Roberts Can't Name A Single City That Has Adopted Same Transgender Bathroom OrdinanceI met Jennifer Roberts years ago when she was a new Mecklenburg County commissioner. I'd been a county commissioner for a while, so I figured I could my own with any county commissioner from any county - even from the Great State of Mecklenburg.
Jennifer was forced to talk to me because we were the only two folks riding on a bus together in the downtown of one of North Carolina's biggest cities - it could have even been Charlotte (I can't perfectly remember). I can do small talk - pretty well if I want to - but I generally prefer not to when I talk to other politicians. I think she would have rather that I stuck to the 'small talk'. She impressed me as just a young, and a bit bewildered politician. Maybe that has not changed so much.

Commented on Obama 'Gets his Che On'Bobby Tony,
When Hussein says, "it's not who we are", I don't believe he knows who we are, or: Why would Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz be doing so well in this election season? Wait, drop Bernie. "Who we are" is pissed off. And the only way a Democrat gets elected in 2016 is if people, who speak extremely poor English, vote in huge numbers for the free stuff that we patriots pay for.

Commented on I am Suffering from Trump FatigueAlex, I get that.
In fact, of all of us, I probably wax more pissed off than all of us, and, consequently, my wife is oft to remind me what an unredeeming trait that is, and Lord knows, I need to work on it. I just think there are better prospects for the highest office, hence the unwary comment, and that is why I have supported Ted Cruz. If Trump wins, however, I will pray for him to be that guy that proves me wrong, because, we really are on a bad road. I love my country, if for no other reason, for those of you that have done your good part to save the Republic. I will pray that Trump will be worthy to serve as your president, and I will vote for him should he be the Republican nominee. It could never be Hillary B. or Bernie for me. I can't see how any patriot could vote for either of them. War vets, for whatever reason they may choose to vote for one of these two non patriots, will always get a full pass with me. I would never try to rationalize the why of it. They get a life time pass carte blanche.

When I said I was a map maker, it was just my day job, where I would: go out in the field with my crew; record information; then reduce that information, by using math (mostly trig, algebra and even simple division, i.e. relative fractions reduced to a factor of 1 with various word problems scenarios); and then I would take that information to draw/draft plot plans measuring showing land situations horizontally and vertically in precise measurements, with descriptions weighted in script and line.
Long description here, but it feels good writing about something that I did about 40 years ago. I really do believe that I could go back to being a surveyor with just a bit of burnishing of the skills, including the math (which would not take long). Computers would make it all really cool. Here below is the latest map that I made, after many decades and using the computer, by building upon some data that my buddy Hood supplied me (which is completely built upon a map that I initially drew and gave Hood) of my land that I am just now engaged in subdividing. The final map will depend upon the placement of septic systems and the house footprints. I will not plot the official recorded maps, but I will use my maps, built upon the official maps, to promote the property because I like colors, which communicate as well. ![]() These hand maps that you supplied regarding Vietnam War, by Wild Bill, proves how valuable the communication of drawings are. Who knows, Wild Bills maps may have kept some of your buddies alive.

Commented on There is no "proper English"Interesting discussion here, and especially the: specific instances, separate rules, changes on the horizon of a such a difficult language, English; but most languages are at their core.
People have a need to communicate, and language, English and all the others, are just one of the many tools to do so, albeit, the most exercised one of the mix. Let's keep this going. Hopefully, Kathy will keep posting these wonderful reminders of the rules that lend to us a bit of the structure that keep us on the same proverbial page.

I agree Bobby Tony.
One of my early jobs was being a draftsman and map maker, and in those olden days before plotters, we hand scripted information in various weights, which made up the visual communication vehicle - the drafted drawing. The key to the project's success was the consistency of form.

Hillary B.'s biggest drawback, besides being a chronic liar, is her complete lack of real experience in education, world's affairs, etc.
As someone, who has served 18 years as a county commissioner and did take a keen interest in how education works and should work, the worst thing you can do is seek Federal help, with all their stupid bureaucratic strings attached. This obvious wisdom rolls far beyond Hillary B.'s limited cognitive abilities.

I have a friend who suffers from the condition of Liberal, who I am considering using as a foil /muse in future writings, who also will vote for Hillary, but grimaces when he says it.
In his early to mid sixties, I just don't think he has ever voted for a Republican. When I get him to discuss the merits of Hillary, he agrees: 'She is a lying bitch, but I'm a Democrat ...' This when I have fun with my muse, as I start taking him for a philosophical ride, and I always make him laugh, just as he makes me laugh. The difference between me and my muse, let's call him Richard, is that I will use my considerable auspices to bury a bad Republican. Democrats coalesce around their many flawed and criminal leaders, and act as if they are doing the right thing. As one can well understand, this can get rather funny if you push the right buttons.

Sabe, I think you are hung up on semantics.
It is my experience, and few people know Liberals as well as I do, that most Liberals have morphed into Authoritarian "progressives". I still remember when elected Democrats could do math, were patriots, and were astounded by members of their party - the Lyndon Johnson wing - who were content to begin the carving up of their nation to win generations of voters.

As a county official, I learned that Liberals consider the act of being a Liberal, as referenced by a non Liberal, is actually considered a slur as a descriptor, ergo, 'we prefer to be called a "progressive"'. My question is: What happens when the descriptor of "progressive" becomes a slur? Pretty soon whining Liberals run out of words to re-reference themselves.
So, as far as the cry-baby college students in a 'chicken or the egg scenario': Which came first, the cry-baby college student, or the cowardly Liberal education industry?

I was never a big Emerson, Lake and Palmer fan; although, I recognize their talent.
In 1974, I went to festival at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, where Emerson, Lake and Palmer were sharing the top billing with the Allman Brothers. Duane was recently deceased, and rather than try to replace Duane's fabulous guitar work, the band hired Chuck Leavell's piano. Keith Emerson employed a hydraulic lift to elevate his baby grand (or was it a full grand?), and then rotate it for some major musical theatrics. At the end of the evening, after much musical histrionics, I ws far more impressed by Chuck Leavell, as he just slayed the iconic "Jessica", than anything ELP could accomplish. Just a memory, and rest in peace Keith.

I have two daughters, who are big Bernie supporters, and both have no real understanding of our founding documents after years of having me as a father, and both are poor at math, which also I had nothing to do with. Both have degrees in art from the prestigious East Carolina University School of Art, which does not explain their ineptitude in math, because I too have a background in art and design, and I understand math far better than most.
The only thing that I know explains all this is the our poor education system in North Carolina - top to bottom - for even now, I have a hard time breaking through the indoctrination shell to expose them to real higher learning, far beyond that which East Carolina University can offer on many important subjects. I say that it must be our poor North Carolina education system, because my children are not alone in having a poor grasp of what is real, and what is real knowledge. What do I mean by saying that both of my graduated daughters are not alone: Most people around here that I meet think inside 'the box', and that box is getting smaller every day. Someone should tell them; show them. This is the world I live in here in eastern North Carolina. Tell me Bobby Tony: What is it like in northeast Georgia?
