Commented on More major companies ditching racist / Marxist DEIIn some of our counties the community colleges are trying to camouflage the DEI programs with other language. That's not so at Beaufort Community College. They are wearing it like a badge of honor.

When this board wants something, they fast track it. When they don't, they drag it out and pick it apart until they kill it. Clearly, this board does not want more transparency. Clearly, this board does not want more public input. Clearly, this board does not want more board input. This board does not even want to fulfil their own lawful responsibility to determine what the curriculum will be in Beaufort County.

If it wasn't obvious well before now, it certainly is now. The majority of this board is not committed at all to transparency. This board majority does not care what the community thinks unless it is a segment of the public parroting them - so much for real diversity. They are perfectly content playing the role of big shot/cheerleader brown nosers.
Think I'll call my rep and ask him why he tries to meet those fellows half-way. Do they ever return the favor?

I'm often times amazed that people think Klaus Schwab and the WEF billionaire Globalists care anything about regular folks. Bill Gates and others of his ilk actually talk openly about depopulating the planet and about the efficiencies of an authoritarian Communist Chinese government. They do not advocate for a free society. They are trying to build a new age feudalism. You can guess where most of us fit in that kind of setup.

At least the Tractor Supply corporate board recognizes they have a problem and need to stop the free fall in stock price. We don't need to forget they still have the same woke corporate board that enacted the DEI program to start with.
Considering BCCC, they and other educational institutions are a long way from really ending their DEI programs for show or otherwise. Also, remember that this is the culture educating our young people these days. We need diversity of thought in public education badly. How can there even be real education going on when one extreme view is presented and virtually everything else is cancelled? We need to exhibit some real diversity in something important like hiring.

My takeaway from this is I prefer a more systematic approach to decision making like Dr. Blinson has laid out here. I acknowledge that way of planning is a rarity these days.
As has happened several times since I've been interacting on this site, the discussion of whatever issue being dealt with has been overridden by what seems to be a very bitter personal battle where reason and logic is nowhere to be found. On a previous discussion I found it necessary to do some personal research in order to have some idea what was being argued - in that case it was the legality or illegality of banning ex-officio members from the Repub executive committee. I've had to do personal research again about the animosity going on in this strand. This keeps going back to the present-day BC Repub executive committee and the hatred they have for the Beaufort County Conservative Club. It seems that the current officers of the Repub Executive Committee are relative newcomers to the area - a little over or a little under a decade or so in most cases. The roots of the Conservative Club go back several decades to a time where they started as the Beaufort County Republican Men's Club. There was a time when both groups worked in the Republican Party albeit with some tensions. In recent years the newcomers decided that the conservatives had to be outright banned from the party, so we now in effect have two hostile Republican groups: The official Republicans who operate under a sort of loose association with official Republican stated principles and the Conservatives with a more serious adherence to stated Republican principles. It seems the executive committee folks view the conservatives as demons or worse while the conservatives are wondering just who these new folks are that want to dictate who they can associate with and what they can think and say. The Republican Executive Committee meets monthly on the second Thursday at 6:30 pm at the Republican HQs. The Conservative Club meets on the third Thursday at 6 pm in the King Chicken meeting room. I'm thinking about checking both out, but a little voice in my head keeps insisting that may a very bad idea! Oh well, there's still the bunker. ![]()

I've learned right much the last year or so about the crazy local politics around here. I get that Big Bob represents the far-left Dems. At the same time, I'm getting this vibe that the Bp, Pretending girl, Cv, and Firebrander characters are what passes for main-stream Repubs in these parts. Bam damn shazam. I think I prefer Dem Big Bob. Kind of makes me want to hunker down in the bunker and wait for the zombies. Heck with politics. This is

Speaking of the Beaufort County Commission: Of the three "self-proclaimed bipartisan centrist" Republican commissioners, two were Democrats that changed party in order to get elected. One of those tried first as a Democrat and failed, the other changed shortly before running the first time. The third is a transplanted northern progressive Republican. I think all three are now on the county Repub exec. committee as at-large members. As county commissioners they are at least ex-officio members anyway.
Not so for the two conservative Republican commissioners. From what I hear it isn't likely the exec. committee leadership would allow them to be at-large members. They don't even recognize the ex-officio membership status of one of the conservative commissioners. The Beaufort County Executive Committee is clearly an anti-conservative pro-progressive organization that is many times out of step with the Republican Party platform and the Republican Party plan of organization. Considering any future sheriff race or any other local race, I wouldn't be surprised what this organization did.

This phony, dishonest condition of the organized GOP seems to be a state and nationwide problem, but I must say Beaufort County has an especially virulent, mean-spirited version of it. With this present cabal in charge, they have gone from being not that significant to being a group doing much more harm than good.

The thing I'm wondering about is if the commissioner in question that was asked to leave the exec. committee is now back on the Repub. exec. committee. I suppose he'll be running for office again as a Republican in two years.
What happened to Dunn really shows where this so called Repub committee is. They move against Dunn who did nothing wrong, while they reluctantly kindly ask a real traitor to leave for awhile, because his brazen treason act got attention. It's easy to see why a lot of credible people refuse to have anything to do with this Repub exec. committee.

As I understand it, someone who was urged to resign from the exec. comm. for endorsing and writing a check to a Democrat sheriff candidate is now back on the exec. committee and is running for county commission again. Did I hear that right? If that is true, I guess anything is possible from these exec. comm. anti-conservative pro-Dem RINOs.

Commented on Eastern Elementary Construction, DisgustingAnother reason, and I imagine the overriding reason, the state superintendent awarded the grant was the political timing. Remember this primary season watching state Superintendent Truitt traveling the state handing out the big photo op checks and preening with local politicians before the local press. I think she really thought that strategy would work for a primary win. I'm hearing that she is more than a bit bitter that it didn't.
I'm getting a lot of mixed reviews from the public about the wisdom of consolidating an urban school. My discussions reveal much more agreement about not favoring consolidation of schools in general. At least one school board member and at least one commissioner have expressed concerns about planning more for obtaining lottery grant money than developing a coherent building plan. Welcome to the days of scrambling for the gambling cut money, backslapping and aping for the cameras, and letting the chips fall where they may. If I planned my business this way, I'd go bankrupt. ![]()

The King family doesn't believe the FBI. I imagine we've got about as straight a story on this as we do the JFK assassination.

Commented on School construction. The public deserves better from the School Board and CommissionersYes, Bp might be a central office staffer. One of my associates think it is more likely one of those Repub exec. committee officers with severe HDS. Whatever, it is pathetic excuse for rational argument.
While I think JM made a good point, Hood's complaint about how decisions are made in this county is valid also. His point is valid enough that I consider it to be a county wide problem that does not need to be swept under the rug under the guise of hateful Hood bashing. We should appreciate public servants that have the backbone to do their job. Bottom line: More effort was put into getting lottery money to spend then making a plan for BCSs. ![]()

Commented on West Point Begins Removing Confederate Monuments From Campus; Robert E. Lee Portrait And Bust Cleared OutCV - Of course you're right. The left has to cancel our history in order to impose their ideology. They concentrate on our young people, because more mature people are more grounded and harder to fool. Yes. It's what totalitarians do.
The leftist troll has demonstrated something else. While many of us are broadly well read, it is they, who claim to be diverse and inclusive, that are really very closed. They are not open to a reading list that makes them consider anything other than their ideological narrative. The DEI programs use phony, hypocritical methods to confuse and mislead people. We need to embrace our history and traditions and not contribute to tearing down our civilization like these totalitarians want so badly.

Some masked man I do not know accuses me of being arrogant and non-repentant (for something unspecified) as well as being stupid. Even so, he is interested in my thoughts on two landmark books: 1) a popular 19th century fictional novel 2) the 1901 autobiography of Booker T. Washington. Sorry dude, I did those book reports a long time ago for a legitimate educator. Perhaps the more relevant question is why does the left support canceling history and tradition in our society? Bonus question: What's the Marxist view of Thomas Sowell?
