Commented on McConnell set to retire in NovemberIt cannot come too soon. Theonly positive thing McConnell ever did was prevent the confirmation of Merrick Garland. If you want to know the true definition of an establishment RINO as opposed to the personality clashes in the county its McConnell. He's enabled every piece of socialist trash for over two decades.

Commented on A Cruel PromiseAs for the process I do believe that if the referendum was to pass and there wanted to be a change to it to create two-year terms, the process would be to get the 5,000 signatures for new referendum to change it to two yearterms and then have that referendum pass. I think the only other way around that is a state statute but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.
Stan, you may be able to comment on that but I'm pretty sure that's the correct process.

Commented on A Cruel PromiseI'd also wager any amount of money that you've never personally met me. That's pretty much how it goes for 90% of the people who post negative things about me so I'm used to it and it comes with the territory of speaking your mind and not being afraid to cower to the left or the far right.

Commented on A Cruel PromiseWell citizen X when you have any proof of anything I've ever said that's hate filled I'd be happy to hear it. If you consider calling corrupt officials out as hate failed then guilty as charged. When you have poor folks in the city of Washington that can't even get vouchers but you have a Housing Authority run by the mayor's wife that take trips every year for hundreds of dollars a night rooms at hotels for so-called affordable housing while kicking people out of their homes days before Christmas hate-filled then guilty as charged. For all the talk of how horrible a person I was as a candidate I actually got more votes as a city council member running as a republican than the history of Washington but due to the very high turnout I did not cross the finish line though got very close 60 votes short. Stan and I agree on almost everything when it comes to political issues. Our only difference is on Hood who I consider a hate monger and an embarrassment to the party. We are certainly entitled to your views though I certainly can tell by your post that you do not have any of the interests of the Republican Party or moderate Democrats and unaffiliate voters in mind so I think I'll pass on your advice. I'll choose to continue to promote business growth in Beaufort County a better quality of life cleaner environment and lower taxes. I'm also not going to back down from bullies and those that think that they are entitled to government action or to privileges as part of the martini sipping crowd.

Commented on Resolution in Defense of the State of Texas, and their People's Sovereign Right to Defend its Southern BorderStan you have this exactly right! The states are responsible for picking up the slack when the federal government refuses to do so. Every state has the right to come to the defense of another state when sovereignty is at issue. Your resolution is not only necessary but should be supported by every single conservative and Republican but not only conservatives and Republican but anyone that gives a damn about the country and that includes Democrats and independent voters. Well worded.

Commented on A Cruel PromiseWith all due respect Mr Hood have you no shame. Do you have to go after every single person that has a different view than you. This is why you do not deserve to be reelected and it's not even because I disagree with you I'm political issues we probably agree on 90% of them it's cuz you're nasty and you go after people on a personal level. I've never taken a dime from anyone I work my ass off as a working class person and a blue collar job so how dare you. You're disgrace to the party.

Commented on A Cruel PromiseI do agree that there is some validation to having Commissioners elected on every two year basis. I think that is a good point. However I think it's a horrible idea to have Commissioners elected countywide instead of by districts. Here's why.
When it's County Wide you could have three or four Republicans and maybe one Democrat or vice versa on the ballot since you only get one vote for a commissioner you're actually dividing the vote for your party there by limiting just how many members of your party can be elected even if the majority vast majority of the voters want a particular party's candidates to be elected. So instead of electing say eight Republican commissioners based on districts we might only elect seven or six because one Republican is taking the votes away from another Republican because you only get one vote thereby dividing the conservative vote. The same would be true for the other side. And then I deal world I would favor the district map with two year terms staggered. But we don't live in an Ideal World unfortunately so I believe that the petition is the best option that we have right now to rectify a situation in which voters votes are diluted we're only getting one vote for commissioner when there may be several different commissioners that would otherwise be elected by District.

I'm a member of both parties if you would like to call it that although one is a PAC and one is the actual party. I ran as a very Conservative candidate for City Council in the last election in Washington and almost one a seat for the Republican Party.
In that time I realized a few things. There are very conservative members in both groups and very active citizens with good intentions, good values, and good people that want to reach communities that have not been reached by our party in quite some time. This is all been done with conservative values in mind of fiscal responsibility and compliance with the law. I have to take Umbridge with this entire article as it does not accurately portray those whom it attacks. My ideology is decidedly to the right possibly even of trump on many issues and yet this article seems to lump me into a RINO category simply because I participate in what is the official Republican party as well as the conservative PAC. If Caroline Garris was so woke she would not have appointed me to become the volunteer coordinator for the Republican Party efforts in Beaufort County for 2024 before she had to step down as party chair. That simply would not happen if she was A RINO, which an official that was UNDER budget and returned 48,000 of appropriations of taxpayer funds cannot by definition be a RINO but rather a bona fide conservative. The attack on April Hollaway is frankly vulgar and an apology should be issued as it contains shabby viewed racial overtones and is false. As someone that is strongly pro-life, opposed to all tax increases, believes in a Civic Society rather than a government run Society, in a Melting Pot instead of a multi-cultural society... I believe I belong established my conservative credentials. Would I have observed for attending both groups is that there are certain members of each group that simply don't like each other. They tend to have the exact same views and issues but because of Personality clashes and egos we have division. I do not understand the continued attacks on Republicans. The Republican Party should be United in fighting the Democratic socialists and note I said the Democratic socialists not the conservative or moderate Democrats of which there is only a limited number left. Articles such as this do nothing to help us win in 2024. Just one man's opinion let the barrage of attacks begin.

Commented on Faith, family and freedomBig bob, no I didn't learn it from that perspective at all I learned both sides and we were allowed to make our own and draw our own conclusions we actually had debates in classe. we weren't spoon-fed how to think and what conclusions to draw. I did not attend schools in North Carolina but I can tell you when I went to school we had open and honest debates we were not indoctrinated we were not told we had to think a certain way we didn't have any of this race-based or gender Theory nonsense that's being taught now we were talking the facts and to draw our own conclusions we wrote papers that we had to back up with primary sources. I was in AP History and loved the open and honest discussions we used to have you can't have that today in most classrooms because everything is spoon-fed to students out of a textbook written usually from a very biased source.

Commented on Happy 100 Days of Non-ComplianceI'll tell everyone one thing ... if elected I'm going to insist on a public hearing on how they have spent the money the city gave them and how they are using public funds. Also going to insist on a vote on my anti-nepotism ordinance to forbid the appointment of kin to boards by while family members are serving as elected officials. The public ethical lapses here are staggering and the cover-up of not releasing the receipts and where the money is spent is obscene. If there's no wrong-doing ... COMPLY with the mandatory request.

Commented on Faith, family and freedomSo big Bob I guess all those black women that have stood up in front of school boards denouncing CRT as portraying their children as victims and incapable of competition with white people are just bigoted black women huh? Such absurd statements. People should be judged as individuals and I'm sick and tired of people jumping to race on both sides every time there's any kind of issue in our schools the problem is leftist indoctrination that teaches that people are incapable of success simply because they are a member of a group which completely negates all of the hard work done by countless minorities who have succeeded to own businesses and in education and an innovation and in technology what you're doing is saying that they're only capable of success if Government gives them a handout or if Government steps in. That's absolutely nonsense and completely racist in and of itself. It's also completely racist of certain white people on the right to think that every single black person that has been successful has done so because they've been given a hand up by the government which is also incorrect since there's a lot of black and Latino people who have chosen to become individuals and ignore the extremes on both sides. So big Bob you might want to reevaluate where your racism is actually coming from. Sorry for the tone of this message but it really infuriates me when people think that minorities and others people of color can only be successful when a liberal white person steps in to help them.
