There is no "white history" or "black history". There is simply only history.

Confederate history is also the history of many ethnic groups, like the highest ranking minority to serve in the war on either side, Confederate General Stand Watie, whose statue has been attacked by BLM/ANTIFA thugs. I would point out that the Yankees, in contrast, did not even let minorities serve as officers at any rank. Confederate heroes who distinguished themselves in battle include Moses Dallas, a black Confederate naval officer, who was instrumental in planning and helped lead one of the most daring exploits of the war, the capture of the Union warship USS Waterwitch while she was on blockade duty off Savannah in a surprise nighttime attack boarding from small boats. When the far left tries to cancel Confederate history, people like Watie and Dallas are among those they cancel.

That is also true of Confederate political history, where Judah P. Benjamin of Louisiana became the first person of the Jewish religion to hold cabinet rank in a government this side of the Atlantic. Benjamin served in the cabinet of President Jefferson Davis throughout the war, successively as Secretary of State, Attorney General, and Secretary of War.

Grow up, Bobbie. When you run out of even your distorted facts in an argument, it should not be time to turn to personal attacks. Go take a puberty blocker or something.

Your woke mind may see following true history as "weak" but to most thinking people it is honest. Instead of true history, Bobbie, you follow the talking points of the far left narrative. That is not being an individual at all. It is being a lemming.

Trump's a heck of a lot smarter than lame-brain Biden who much of the time does not seem to know where he is or what day it is. He is also a heck of a lot smarter that woke troll Little Bobbie.

The American people are also a heck of a lot smarter than the Democrats gave them credit for in comprehending what the Democrats are up to with their made up, trumped up charges. Man, does that term "trumped up charge" fit these Democrat political bushwhackings.

There Little Bobbie goes again with his Common Core math. Before, he claimed Jim Crow lasted 120 years, and now he is down at least to 100, but the correct factual answer is about 60 years. Jim Crow laws came in around the turn of the century across the south. North Carolina adopted its first one in the 1899 legislative session but most of them were in the 1901 session.

Those laws were motivated by the Democrats trying to regain control in some states or maintain control in others as white small farmers abandoned the Democrats in the mid 1890s over a feeling that the Democrats were the party of the wealthy special interests (hmmm, a lot like today) and abandoned it for the new Populist Party. The Populists then ran a fusion campaign with the Republicans. The Democrats responded with a white supremacy strategy to divid those white small farmers from the Republicans, and keyed in on the fact that most blacks of that era voted Republican. The Democrats did not wake up one morning and decide they hated blacks. Instead, it was a matter of political strategy to recapture the white small farmer vote from the Populists who were allied to the Republicans.

I do not condone what the Democrats did. My own party, the Republicans voted against all those Jim Crow laws when the Democrats put them through the legislature and I would have joined them if I were living in those times. But I do recognize that rather than being inherently racist, the Democrats of that period decided that pushing racism and white supremacy was a winning political strategy for them to recapture the white farmer vote they had lost to the Populists. There cynical use of the race card in those times for political purposes is as evil as the way the Democrats do it now with DEI.

The looting, arson, rape, and murder of white and black Southern civilians by Sherman, Sheridan, and Stoneman, not only violated the Geneva Convention of 1863 but also violated the Common Law of War as those officers and others had been taught at West Point. Sherman's idea of "total war" was not much different from the Serbs in Bosnia. What Sherman did was a war crime by today's standards and also by the standards of his own period.

FIghting for southern indepdence was NOT a sin, but vicious attacks on our history IS totalitarian.

I was listening to Andrew McCarthy, a former federal prosecutor in New York City today. He has been following all the proceedings of the Trump prosecution by Alvin Bragg and Juan Merchan. He cited several really off the wall evidentiary rulings by Judge Merchan that were against "black letter law" (very well settled principles of law) both in restricting evidence and witnesses on behalf of Trump and allowing Bragg's witnesses to testify to things they should not. This judge's extreme political bias just keeps getting worse. This trial is a mockery of justice in so many ways.

Dumbass Bob can't read. I said "Biden is America's PUTIN", not Stalin. The main connection to Stalin is that the Trump trials are sensationalized like the Stalin show trials.

In a political witch hunt like the one by Biden against Trump, levels of wealth are irrelevant and a red herring. The political prosecutions / persecutions against Trump are no different than the Stalin Show Trials and no different than Putin's trumped up criminal charges against a number of his political opponents. Biden is America's Putin and he is a big threat to our democracy.

The far left does not get to define what an insurrection is. When elections are stolen, principles of democracy require those who believe in democracy to work for invetigations to get some relief for the public for the voter fraud. I look forward to election interference prosecutions in the next administration and seeing scoundrels like Marc Elias and Mark Zuckerburg jailed for the rest of their miserable lives.

The White House and DOJ officials involved are Biden political appointees. They are joined ata the hip with Biden. Biden himself is so spacey, he probably would not even understand what they are talking about. Jack Smith, Alvin Bragg, and Fani Willis' boyfriend all had meetings at the White House on their prosecutions of Trump. That stinks to high heaven as does Fani Willis' meeting with Kamala Harris.

Wally is extremely ifnoran t of the Presidential Records Act. The Biden political appointee at Archives did NOT have unilateral authority to determine what did and did not fall within that act. All court decisions under that act have ruled that the president had very broad authority on what to retain.

And what about BIden? There is absolutely NO authority for a former vice president or a former senator to keeps the documents he did, lots of them in mulitple places.

If you think that historical timeline equals 120 years, Little Bobbie, you must be using Common Core Math where two plus two can equal anything you want it to be. Your number about doubles the actual timeline.

Jim Crow DID very much know a party and it was the Democrat Party. When North Carolina passed its Jim Crow laws in 1899 and 1901, all the Democrats voted for them and all the Republicans and Populists voted against them. That is pretty darn clear cut.

DEI is the notions that people should be treated as members of groups instead of individuals, that equality of opportunity should be replaced by equality of result, and that everyone should be treated as "oppressed" or an "oppresser" based on things that happened before they were even born. These notions are purely Marxist and entirely un-American.

Surrendering to this Marxist crap is a lose - lose for everyone except the progressive ideologues trying to control us.

120 years? You must be on your second bottle of Old Crow, Bobbie! Lets look at some real history instead of your fairy tales.

The War Between the States ended in 1865 and was followed by Reconstruction, during which northern troops occupying the South often disenfranchised southern whites who had fought for the Confederate states and politically promoted southern blacks. Northern troops were withdrawn in 1877, although Reconstruction impacts lingered for some additional years in some southern states. The gap between the end of Reconstruction and the advent of Jim Crow varied by state, so lets look at North Carolina. Black North Carolinians, who mostly voted Republican were active politically throughout the late 19th century, and participated heavily in the "fusion" campaign of 1894, in which a coalition of Republicans and Populists won control of the legislature. In 1896, the "fusion"coalition won the governorship and increased control of the legislature, and with the latter, also a US Senate seat. The successful fusion candidates included a black congressman and a dozen black legislators. It was that victory which led the Democrats to start plotting against the black population in order to regain power. In the 1898 election, the Democrats ran as strident white supremists and won back control of the legislature. The 1898 Wilmington massacre was part of the Democrat white supremacy campaign.

NC's first Jim Crow laws were enacted by the new Democrat majority legislature in 1899, but the most onerous ones came in with the 1901 legislative session.

The beginning of the end of Jim Crow came with court decisions in the 1950s, and the final stake was driven through its heart by Congressional Civil Rights bills in the mid 1960s. Not only did legislative Republicans vote unanimously against the NC Jim Crow bills of 1899 and 1901, but Republicans in Congress heavily supported the civil rights bills of the 1960s.

You are the Democrat, Bobbie, so it is you who should be "proud" of Jim Crow! It is your side that imposed it on North Carolina. So go enjoy your bottle of Old Crow. And learn the true history before making stupid statements that display your ignorance of history

It is just common sense that a business like Sheetz would not want convicted criminals working for them. If the crime was some type of stealing, they would not want criminal employees stealing from them. If the crime was some type of assault or sexual assault, they would want to protect their customers and other employees from that behavior. If it was some type of dreug use, they would not want employees stoned on the job. The list could go on.

Obama also worked to move the leadership of our military to the left, with a large number of generals and admirals retired early and replaced with more "woke" successors. Our military had never been politicized this way by other presidents. That set the stage to make it even more "woke" under Biden, so that now they are having problems with recruiting for their woke military. The military was another of what the Soviets called the "power ministries".

In his upcoming term, President Trump needs to de-wokify all of these institutions. Retire the woke generals and admirals and put traditional military leaders back in place. With the FBI, DOJ, etc. appoint solid people to all the positions open for presidential appointment and give them the mission to clean up their agencies. One tool in government to clear out senior career officials who are problematic is to reorganize the agency so that their positions are abolished and their duties assigned to someone else. That is easier to accomplish than outright firing. There should also be bi-partisan review boards created for these agencies to guard against politization in the future.

I agree that Greg Murphy has stabbed us in the back one too many times, and attacking our liberties is not foregivable. I don't know anything about that Libertarian, but Murphy has to GO.

DEI is indeed about excluding whites, but it is even more sinister than that. America has always been about equality of opportunity. DEI embraces the Marxist comcept of equality of result and that is un-American and anti-American. As Martin Luther King said, people "should be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin."

The Orwellian Newspeak definition of "equity" used by the far left as part of DEI is pure Marxism.

I notice they keep covering up the political party membership of the jurors, which is extremely relevant in a political case like this one as to whether the jury is fair or not. I have a gut feeling that this is likely because it is an all-Democrat jury. That would more be a lynch mob than a jury.

Let me give Bonehead Bob a leftwing source and see if that will stop his anti-history ranting. Bobbie has posted that PBS is a source he trusts. PBS has always been regarded as a liberal source, but thanks to a recent whitleblower, it can now be deemed a far-left source. Well, here is a PBS article that admits the reality of 261,000+ free blacks in the South in 1860:
www.pbs.org

Bonehead Bob just preaches the far left narrative. Facts to him are irrelevant. So, will Bobbie now call PBS the KKK? Maybe claim th black writer of that PBS article is a secret klansman who goes around wearing a sheet and burning crosses? What little bit of credibility Bobbie may have once possessed, and that was not very much, is now gone completely. Maybe he should learn that when you are in a hole, it is time to stop digging.

Democrats want to make it easier to cheat so that some of their constituent groups - illegal aliens, the deceased, fraudulent voters, etc. get to cancel out the votes of real people who are entitled to vote. Why do they oppose photo voter ID? Because it is sorta hard for illegal aliens and the deceased to obtain them.

The facts don't fit your narrative, so you turn to personal attacks, Little Bobbie? Maybe it is time to study some real history instead of the far left narrative you constantly parrot. You might even start with that book by Frederick Douglass, who you apparently did not even know who he was. The only racist on this board is you, Little Bobbie with your racist anti-white views. You want to sweep the free blacks of the antebellum south under the rug because they are inconvenient to your far left political narrative. We southerners celebrate all people of the south, and therefore reject your stereotyping.
Commented: Sunday, April 14th, 2024 @ 6:17 pm By: Conservative Voter
You really are a moron who is ignorant of history, Bonehead Bob. All you have to do is look at the US census of southern states (or even northern slave states like Delaware) to see that the census takers differientiated between black slaves and free blacks. You will also see in those census records where free blacks sometimes owned slaves themselves.

Right here in Beaufort County, we had two thriving communities of free blacks prior to the War Between the States, one at Keysville, north of Washington, and the other a grouping of blacks who owned small farms in the eastern part of the county. There was even a shipyard on the waterfront in downtown Washington owned by a free black man.

While you are correct about slaves, you ignore the free blacks, who generally had more rights in the south than free blacks in the north. That was because of the draconian "Black Codes" of many northern states of the period that greatly suppressed the rights of free blacks. Indeed, the harshest was probably Illinois, which passed a statute in the 1850s that prohibited black people from even living in the state.

Bonehead Bob is full of stereotypes, false notions, and conspiracy theories but what he is constantly short on is facts.
Commented: Sunday, April 14th, 2024 @ 8:50 am By: Conservative Voter
Either you can't read or are ignorant of history, Bobbie. The words you get your panties in such a twist over were written in 1861 by a very prominent black historical figure, Frederick Douglass and he uses terms that were common and non-controversial at the time. Maybe you should read Douglass' autobiography, which I have, an enlightening account of being born into slavery, escaping, teaching himself to read, and becoming a top leader of the abolitionist movement. Douglass wrote of blacks serving as soldiers in the Confederate army in addition to cooks.

And you seem not to know the difference between a free black and a slave. In the South in 1861, 20% of blacks were free blacks and indeed, 10% of free blacks owned slaves themselves.

While the quote from Douglass uses the "colored people" term, it is not one that I use myself. However, a virtually identical term "people of color" is currently in wide use by the left today.
Commented: Saturday, April 13th, 2024 @ 6:17 pm By: Conservative Voter
Many black southerners were in the Confederate army. 20% of southern blacks in 1861 were free blacks and they were as interested in defending their country as southern whites. The military pension rolls of southern states in the 1890s confirm that. Since your ideology will not accept such facts, maybe you will listen to one of the great black abolitionists of the period, Frederick Douglass, who wrote in 1861:
"It is now pretty well established, that there are at the present moment many colored men in the Confederate army doing duty not only as cooks, servants and laborers, but as real soldiers, having muskets on their shoulders, and bullets in their pockets, ready to shoot down loyal troops, and do all that soldiers may to destroy the Federal Government and build up that of the traitors and rebels. There were such soldiers at Manassas"
