Let's talk about that. Compare say network news with far right 'talking heads" whose work can be found cut and pasted in the BO. Network news has an editorial board with standards. When Dan Rather falsified a news story about then President Bush, he was fired. Compare that to Alex Jones. What that pig of a man did to the parents of the kids murdered in Sandy Hook is beyond sick. Yet many MAGA folks have no problem with him.

No single source of news is correct 100% of the time. However, Alex jones and his ilk are not news, its opinion. The fact is, one can have an opinion about anything, and none of it can be true.

HR has always been a local character. Your grumpy grandfather. His fiscal viewpoint is of value, however on social issues he appears firmly rooted in the 1950s which is fine if you're a white male. Everyone else, not so much. Would I let him balance my check book? Yes. Would I sit down with him over a meal? No.

One thing for sure, one HR is representative in a place like BC, however electing a majority of HRs will lead to complete disfunction. Extreme candidates, either right or left, may sound good, but their inability to compromise means they cant govern.

OK, you guys love this kind of stuff. Ever wonder why a divided country is so important to the rich and powerful? They figure if we keep busy fighting amongst ourselves, we wont notice the forever chemicals in our drinking water, the plastics in our food, a warming climate, over use of pesticides, animal cruelty in modern agriculture or the over use of anti-biotics.
Yup...much more important to smite the gays than tackle real problems.

He went to a mostly white school that was segregated, which was not his fault, But then goes on to tell us, from his white perspective, how it was so great. No mention of, or empathy for, those for whom it was not so great.
The he whines because I'm all about race. He is too. The difference is, he about one race, I am about the human race. Neither of us are perfect, but I sleep well at night.
