"Whitey on the Moon" is a catchy melody of a poem; however, its message suggests a zero sum gain between NASA and Societal costs for the non productive class, and I will always believe that society benefits far greater from the technological advancements of NASA rather than paying towards the advancement of the "The Great Society."

Artificial Intelligence (AI) will always be with us from now until the end of our time, so I am resolved to know all I can about it, use it if necessary, but never embrace it.

Two rules of thumb that I will promote and remain committed to, and these are: 1) AI will never replace the human touch and I will train my eyes, my ears and my intellect to know the difference; 2) Never, and I stress NEVER become complacent with AI, always understanding well that AI will always represent will always be humans vs machines until the end of time.

Complacency will lead to the end of us. That I am well aware of.

Also in the meanwhile, always be wary of humans that are too willing to embrace AI unconditionally. These humans will eventually show tremendous character defects at some point, so be aware of this indicator of such.

The People get the government they deserve. After over 31 years in politics, and after 22.5 years of serving as a Beaufort County Commissioner, this is the greatest truth that I have learned in this avocation.

Elections matter; supporting worthy candidates matters; knowing what is real as a citizen matters! A knowledgeable and assertive public in this People's government's is OUR greatest tool of US, the self-governed.

Accordingly, the public MUST become better engaged, or ... what transpires good or probably bad, as is the ongoing trend at many levels of today's government, will remain YOUR fault.

That is the foundational premise of self government.

Corporate Media is awful, corrupt, and similarly pathetic in their charge to honor their First Amendment by being honest and worthwhile.

If only by default, who would have thought the ENC NOW platform (formerly beaufortcountynow.com, but now expanded) would become the top Journalistic entity in this immediate region.

When I began this public square idea far more than a decade ago, I just wanted to allow people a chance to profess their opinions on a Freedom of Speech Platform, use BCN as a prototype to create our first Content Management System (CMS), and make money doing it.

So far, I have not made any decent money yet, but we have survived because it was important that we survive to provide Real News, and we are, again by default, the closest anyone will get to real journalism is these parts.

NOW, we are the largest online publication in the history of Beaufort County, employing the top technology to do so, plus, I estimate we have about 60,000 unique viewers a week visiting ENC NOW.

NOW, it is time to make some money, and ENC NOW will NOT be our only product /platform to do so.
