Commented on Sample ballot: Our picks for the November electionThe school board attorney is just one of the outside contracts that Cheeseman has taken away from Beaufort County and given to people outside of the county. He pushed out the local attorney who had served for many years as local school board attorney, and never sought anyone local to take her place. He got his yes-men and yes-women on the school board to agree to bring in this Durham Democrat who he had previously brought in to Chowan County.
But lets look at some of the other contracts taken away from local people by Cheesemen and approved by his flunkies on the school board. One was for grounds maintenance which was taken from a local company that had held it for a long time and was doing a good job and turned over to a Pitt County company. Then there was the website contract taken from a local company doing a good job and given at a considerably higher cost to an out of state company. This seems to be Cheeseman's MO. It is disgusting that our elected school board sat there fat, dumb, and happy and let Cheeseman take jobs away from local people to give them to his buddies outside Beaufort County.

The Afghanistan debacle set the stage for the lousy Biden-Harris foreign and security policy, among other things encourageling Putin to invade Ukraine. We left billions of dollars of military equipment over there as well as hundreds of US citizens. Now since that debacle, Biden-Harris have given the Taliban over a billion dollars. Considering that they have only spend $4 million on Hurricane Heleme relief, that is outrageous. Harris just announced we are giving $157 million to Lebanon, a government that has no control of a terrorist group operatinb on their territory that launches missilies against Israel. The American victims of Helene are not launching missiles at anybody. They should be getting help before Lebannon. Biden_Harris are an America Last regime.

Commented on Sample ballot: Our picks for the November electionI guess you haven't looked up the voter registrations of the candidates in the Belhaven school board seat. BOTH candidates are registered Republican. One is having to run as Unaffiliated in the general election because NCDOT screwed up his voter registration and sent it in "unaffiliated".
The real differences are that T.W. Allen is a rubberstamp for liberal school superintendant Cheeseman while David Hudson will vote for parents and taxpayers. Allen voted to hire the chairman of the Durham County Democratic Party as Beaufort County Schools attorney. So you think that is what a good Republican does? When Cheeseman says jump, T.W. Allen asks "how high?" The real issue of control on the school board, as it is on too many of them, is we have a bureaucrat calling the shots for the elected policymakers. We need school board members who will not be sock puppets for liberal superintendant Cheeseman, as a majority of them currently are.

Commented on Sample ballot: Our picks for the November electionI guess supporting an unaffiliated against a lifelong Republican says all that needs to be said about this blog site. You promote yourselves as conservative republicans but really it's all about finding someone you can control. Yep that's it.

I do not know which "boarder" (renter) you think is a campaign issue, but illegal immigration is a huge issue with the American people as reflected in all the polls. You wokesters may have your heads buried in the sand, but most Americans consider it one of the top issues.
Woke is the group hurting people, like pushing this "transgender" nonsense on confused and vulnerable people. The de-transitioners are blowing the whistle on that

I understand , like the boarder, it’s a campaign issue. MAGA would rather lie and hurt people than deal with an uncomfortable reality.

Little children in kindergarten, preschool, and early elementary grades should NOT be sexualized by presenting ANY sexual topics, but the LGBTQSTD ideology wants to groom them at those ages. J later elementary grades, a general discussion of normal sexuality would become appropriate, but hitting 4 and 5 year olds with even that is just preverted.
Imposing your lifestyle on others is NOT "the right to exist". Normal folk don't want their children proselytized into deviant lifestyles. MAGA is showing they can take care of themselves pretty darn well in western NC now that the corrupt Biden-Harris FEMA spent all of its money on illegal aliens.

The right to exist is not indoctrination. LGBT kids exist and a post like yours pretty much tells all of them, they are at best unwelcome, at worst hated.
MAGA-can barely take care of themselves, but want to run your life

The problem with the LGBTQSTD movement in the public schools is they want to groom and sexualize very young children with their ideas. Most folks want to let children be children and not heep all of that sexualized content on them at an early age. Part of keeping "woke" out of our schools is keeping the LGBTQSTD indoctrination out of it.
NObody "hates" any kids. They just want to protect their own from this nonsense.

Commented on Election realityThat is your Climate Scientology pagan religious cult doctrine speaking, Little Bobbie. Renowned novelist Michael Crichton wrote an excellent essay entitled "Global Warming as a Religion" which you ought to read. He makes some excellent points.
However, former Congressman Pete Dupont of Delaware also wrote some interesting pieces saying that climate alarmism was more of a political ideology, which he termed "Global Warmism". Dr. Vaclav Klaus, former prime minister and president of the Czech Republic really hit the nail on the head when he called climate alarmism "a budding totalitarian ideology that is the greatest threat to freedom, democracy, and prosperity in the world today." What the climate alarmists are in denial of is that 1) there are well documented long term alternating warming and cooling cycles of the earth's atmosphere that last multiple centuries and we have been in a natural warming cycle since the 19th century when we came out of a particularly cold cycle called the Little Ice Age, and 2) it is well documented that CO2 in the atmosphere rises a century of so AFTER a warming cycle begins, not before it as the climate alarmist position would require. CO2 is a RESULT of warming atmosphere, NOT a cause of it. For some real science on climate, listen to the many world renowned scientists interviewed in the British TV documentary "The Great Global Warming Swindle" which was broadcast nationally on Channel 4 in the UK: www.youtube.com

Mo Green is also being funded by NC Equity. Which if you look into NC Equity it's a LGBTQ advocacy group which is totally for the transition of children.
Do we really need the state school superintendent being involved in a group like that??? I think not!!

Commented on Election realitySevere hurricanes have been happening in Florida for as long as we have had records. That is nothing new. A hurricane did the same thing to western North Carolina in 1916, and for the same reason, as Hurricane Helene did. Hurricane Milton is setting up very much like the Great Tampa Bay Hurricane of 1848.
In the Medieval Church, anything bad that happened was called a punishment from God. In the Climate Scientology religion, anything bad that happens is called a punishment from manmade global warming. In the Medieval Church, if you wanted to sin, you could pay an indulgence to the Pope for permission. In the Climate Scientology religion, if you want to sin (enit carbon), you can pay an indulgence called a carbon offset, and it can be paid to the Pope of Climate Scientology, Al Gore.

Trump's tax cuts benefitted the middle class and even lower middle class. Is your station in life lower than that, Bolshevik Bob. The Democrats pitched a tantrum because the Trump tax cuts were across the board, and more well to do also benefited. But it was the tax cuts for everybody approach that caused our economy to boom as a result.
With the Marxist ideas toward the successful, the Democrats don't mind killing the golden goose if it satisfies their ideological antagonism toward the successful. And if you are either on social security or expect to be, then Trump's tax cut proposals would benefit you because he wants to end all taxation of social security benefits. That is a highly unfair tax because it is double taxation. Seniors were already taxed on that money when they earned it. Kamala Harris has said specifically that she wants to keep that unfair double taxation.

Commented on More panic at the School Board--RevisedVan Zant, I think you are correct about the point of having a Democrat Party official as county school board attorney being a serious issue. Cheeseman used this same liberal Democrat attorney to try to cut as much ground as he could from under the curriculum reform effort. They batted that back and forth to kill as much of it as they could.
When parents are trying to get "woke" out of our schools, the very last thing we need is the school board attorney being the chairman of a very woke political organization.

It is some of those woke corporate boards that are firing Americans to hire either illegal aliens or temporary foreign workers. Disney was one of the first to do that and they are as woke as you can get.
But you just don't get it. The "pull factor" is the welfare, not jobs. The Danes got it, and when the big migrant invasion of Europe started, they slashed the amount of welfare available to "asylum seekers" and publicized that fact widely in the "pass through" countries like Turkey. They also closed their border with Germany. Legal immigrants are not entitled to ANY public benefits, and they come by obeying our laws. Why should the lawbreaking illegal aliens get a dime? Why should they get assistance that is not provided to legal immigrants? That is immoral and insane. As to your rhetorical question about workers on projects at my house, most of them are white or black Americans who are from around here. The two Hispanics we have used are both US citizens, a fact we knew before we gave them work.

Bob, if you believe what you say about the rich elites getting what they want... why arent you up in arms about the corruption in the Washington City Govt controlled by the privileged elites of this town?
And dont ask me to explain that to you. If you were as alert as you claim to be you would know all about it. This is a "little" town. We are living in "the Great Corruption." Here, there, everywhere.

Commented on More panic at the School Board--RevisedI think this is a very serious issue, but it may even be more serious than we think. Granted, the Beaufort County School Board with a large Republican majority is being legally represented by a lawyer that is Chairman of the Durham County Democrat Party.
Consider the race for North Carolina Superintendent of Schools. Republican Michelle Morrow is being portrayed as a radical by the Democrats. I submit it is the Democrat Mo Green that is the radical. We know that Mo Green headed the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation which is an organization that funded groups that fought to defund the police, rioted in public places, tore down statues and destroyed all manner of property. Mo Green ALSO served as the attorney for Mecklenburg County Schools. Green was later shoehorned into the Guilford County Superintendent position in order to position him for this state race as the teacher union choice for State Superintendent. Congratulations Beaufort County Republicans. You are officially the dumbest political organization in the history of the world.
