Commented on Relaxed Elected OfficialsCT: This just demonstrates how out of whack local government has become. How can they justify paying such exorbitant salaries. It is abuse of the taxpaying public.

Commented on Relaxed Elected OfficialsSo, a local education bureaucrat in Craven County gets paid more than the NC Governor, a US Senator, and NC Council of State members including the STATE Superintendent of Public Instruction? That is both insane and obscene. It is an absolute taxpayer ripoff.

Commented on Relaxed Elected OfficialsCheeseman's Craven County salary will be $235,000. What were we paying?
Craven County said Cheeseman was chosen because of his skillset which includes experience in budgets! I think Hood would disagree. Cheeseman said he chose them because they are looking for the same things he has, or wants, to give. www.witn.com Interesting isnt it that the County manager resigns, then the City manager, then the Superintendent of Education, then the Washington Deputy City manager, then Community Director Dail. I pray there are more to follow. We need a complete change from the petty authoritarians that exist here. MErry CHRISTMAS!

Commented on Relaxed Elected OfficialsAll I can say is that Craven County's loss (getting Cheeseman) is Beaufort County's gain (getting rid of Cheeseman).

Commented on Relaxed Elected OfficialsYeah, well ... I hope the elected officials in Craven County have enough sense to not take Superintendent Cheeseman's advice by NOT choosing a title search, when it comes to using certain plots of land when building mega structures, for mega millions of the Public's money, all for "The Children."

Unless we indict and jail those involved in this abusive lawfare against political opponents, then it will continue. Those who attacked democracy by abusing the legal system need to be prosecuted.

This was such a great victory. His opponent was a literal member of the Communist Party. Second highest percentage for a Chilean President in history.

One of the most under-utilized duties of our elected officials is the impeachment and removal of judges that repeatedly spit on the Constitution and legislate from the bench. I've always thought that Congress and the state legislature should put activist judges into retirement.

Charles Hickman is not only extremely competent as a school board member, but one of the greatest political friends I have ever had. He is loyal, trustworthy, reservedly intelligent; humble in his wisdom of how to accomplish the placement of the puzzle pieces, while productively walking the better path, the one worth taking.
Charles Hickman must be re-elected; not for Charles; not for Stan; but for the Good People of Beaufort County.

Commented on Cheeseman leaving for Craven County?Well, well, well, according to WITN Cheeseman is indeed going to Craven County. He will begin Feb 1, but Beaufort County Board of Education will select an interim Superintendent Wednesday night. His salary will be $235,000.
Craven County said Cheeseman was chosen because of his skillset which includes experience in budgets! ;-) www.witn.com Like Rats fleeing a sinking ship.... or, seeing the handwriting on the wall! A few more in the Washington City Govt need to go too.

Commented on Relaxed Elected OfficialsJV, I missed that WDN article, too, but the Sadler machine still seems to be engaged in power plays. There is a real bad small coming out of city hall from what they machine did to our city. I suspect Kidwell is watching the downfall of the machine with glee as he had to slap down the former city manager a time or two on misapplying state grant money. Of course, it was not as easy to deal eith their misapplication of city taxpayer money.

It speaks volumes when a president of a Latin American country wins on deportation of illegal aliens and wins a landslide. What does that say about the turncoat Democrats in our own country like far left Governor Josh Stein?

When your goal is to destroy a country of course you usher in terrorist. What better way to gain control of all the people than by using the actions of terrorist to disarm the masses for total control of all.
Happening now because of terrorist. New South Wales Premier Chris Minns pushed for more stringent gun control after two terrorists killed 15 innocents on Sydney’s Bondi Beach Sunday evening. www.breitbart.com

Commented on Relaxed Elected OfficialsWashingtonian: I had heard about "The Daily News" article from some friends but hadn't read it until you shared it here; thank you.
The picture TDN posted in the article is very interesting: the body language of those pictured should be taken note of; there's lots of fun to be had in deciphering that Kodak moment. Tyre, Ol' Franz and Brabo are the public faces now involved in one helluva political Mexican standoff that everyone's watching. Even the distraction of Dominic Connelly isn't pulling people away from what's going on in City politics. This is like some s*** from Robocop; you can't make it up. Btw, I'd be willin' to bet money that both Kidwell and Cheeseman are watching this with puckered dukes....if this IS legit and not just Kabuki theater. We shall see......stay tuned
