Washington Fire Department is supposed to run two EMS units. Because they are required to have at least one paramedic on a unit they are unable to do that. WFC has one paramedic per shift which means if one is sick or out they can not respond unless someone is called in to work. Paramedic level requires to specific manning so if the county had not gone to paramedic we would all be better. Because Washington does not respond two units you often see other county units having to respond to their calls which means their area is not covered.
There would have been nothing wrong with leaving us at EMT level. I believe that you would have been able to still have a paramedic if the person was trained but by not being required you could still respond.
At least we have not gotten as bad as Pitt County who has a doctor riding around in a SUV.

(commented on October 10th, 2022 @ 7:53 pm)Commissioner Deathrage: I will be pleased to provide the County Commission with our policy and procedure for Beaufort Promise, which specifically state that no Beaufort County funds may be used to fund tuition and fees or cost of attendance for non-citizens of the US. I need to gain approval of the documents by the Board of Trustees first. Also, it would be impossible for a non-citizen to obtain County funds, since doing so requires completion of the FAFSA, which requires identification of citizenship status. —DL

As president of Beaufort County Community College, I can confirm that no money from Beaufort County is used to pay for tuition and fees via Beaufort Promise or any other purpose for non-citizens ("illegal aliens") from Beaufort County or any other location. I learned to pray in 81' when The Lord drew me to Himself and saved me from my sins. God bless you in your ministry to our young people. So many bad things are available today.
