    Goose Creek State Park Calendar of Events for February, March, 2014.

    Saturday, February 22, 2014       Fire and Longleaf Pines       2:00 pm

    Come learn about the longleaf pine that once dominated the landscape of the Southeastern United States, including the land here at Goose Creek. We'll look at the history of the longleaf, its current status, and the relationship between fire and the longleaf pine ecosystem. Meet at the park Visitor Center.

    Saturday, March 1, 2014       Forestry and the Private Landowner       2:00 pm

    Learn the basics of what you need to know to grow, harvest and care for stands of timber. Meet at the park Visitor Center.

    Saturday, March 15, 2014       All About Corn Snakes       2:00 pm

    Have you ever handled a live snake? Well, this is your chance. We will have multiple corn snakes to view and handle while we learn all about their features, life styles and habitats. Meet at the park Visitor Center.

    Saturday, March 22, 2014       Arbor Day Hike       2:00 pm

    Celebrate Arbor Day by joining us on a tree identification hike. Not only will we show you how to identify some of our most popular and amazing species, we will also tell stories of how trees have helped shape the beautiful state of North Carolina. meet at the Ivey Gut parking lot. Please dress appropriately.

RALEIGH: Today, Governor Roy Cooper and North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (NCDNCR) Secretary Reid Wilson celebrated Earth Day by visiting Goose Creek State Park in Washington.
Washington, N.C. – The inaugural Rivers East Advanced Manufacturing Academy took place at Pitt Community College on Friday, September 23rd.
Please join us at the park visitor center on Saturday, October 8th from 3-5 pm where we will host a Halloween Wildlife Event.
