Saturday, February 7, 2015       Mallard Creek Hike       2:00 pm

Meet at the last parking lot for a one-mile hike down to the dock on Mallard Creek. We’ll be walking through an old loblolly pine plantation until we get close to the creek where you’ll be surrounded by massive pines draped from top to bottom with Spanish moss. While we get a first-hand look at the two stands of trees, we’ll discuss the similarities and differences of a natural stand versus a plantation.

Meet at the park's visitor center to view mounts and discuss some of their cool secrets.
