Award is the Highest Honor for State Employees

Raleigh, N.C.     Fifteen state employees will be presented with the prestigious 'Governor's Awards for Excellence' on Tuesday. It is the highest honor a state employee may receive for dedicated service to the State and the citizens of North Carolina.

"These state employees represent the best of North Carolina," said Governor McCrory. "They serve as role models for their colleagues and an inspiration to their communities. They've demonstrated through their actions that when it comes to providing great service, nothing compares to their dedication and passion."

"Out of more than 80 nominations, an Awards Selection Committee chose 15 recipients in six categories," said Neal Alexander, Director of the Office of State Human Resources (OSHR). "Their accomplishments must go beyond the scope of their normal duties to be selected. Among the awardees are innovators, heroes, caretakers and folks who helped transform their communities. I am proud to call them my colleagues in state government."
