P. S. Jones Middle School Spelling Bee | Eastern North Carolina Now

   On Wednesday, January 25, 2012, P. S. Jones held its annual school spelling bee. All contestants were already winners, because they had not only won their own classroom bees, but had spelled off against their teacher’s winners from other class periods.

   Eighth grade participants were Isabella Mayo, Robert Mayo, and Raekwon Wallace. Seventh graders were Sean Albertson, Darius Blackledge, Kennedy Landen, Deon Little, and Brandon Moore. Sixth grade contestants were Zakeria Daniels, Calub Kite, Nathan Leathers, and Marie Mendoza. The bee was won by Isabella Mayo. She will go on to represent P. S. Jones in the Scripps Howard Bee which will be held at Washington High School in March. Congratulations, Isabella!
