   Please join us in cleaning beautiful goose creek state park’s shorelines!! We are neededing hikers, kayakers, canoers and boaters!!

   Each year the Pamlico-Tar River Foundation holds a “Riverkeeper Cup Cleanup Challenge,” and this year Goose Creek State Park is partnering with PTRF to take advantage of this wonderful event. The park has six tandem (2 person) kayaks and six canoes which will be available for use. Volunteers are welcome to bring their own canoe, kayak or jon boat along with a PFD. If you’d like to participate, but prefer to stay out of a boat, then we have plenty of shoreline which can be hiked.

The Rivers East Workforce Development Board has been awarded a National Dislocated Worker Grant (NDWTG) in the amount of $275,000 to assist the employees of the QVC Rocky Mount Distribution Center that reside in the Rivers East region.
