President Biden Announces Second Slate of Judicial Nominees | Eastern North Carolina Now

    WASHINGTON     President Biden is announcing his intent to nominate 3 additional individuals to District Court vacancies, all of whom are immensely qualified and devoted to the rule of law and our Constitution. These candidates also speak to the President's strong belief that the federal judiciary should reflect the proud diversity of the nation, both in terms of personal and professional backgrounds.

    This is the second judicial nominations announcement made by the President, and these nominations will bring the full number of judicial nominees made during this administration to 14.

    President Biden has spent decades committed to strengthening the federal bench, which is why he continues to move at a historically fast pace with respect to judicial nominations. Last month's announcement of his intent to nominate 11 individuals was faster than any President in modern history, and today's announcement continues that trend.

    David Estudillo: Nominee for the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington

    David Estudillo is currently the Presiding Judge of the Grant County Superior Court in Ephrata, Washington, after being appointed as a Superior Court judge in 2015. Judge Estudillo is also the President of the Washington State Superior Court Judges' Association. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Estudillo was a solo practitioner at Estudillo Law Firm PLLC from 2005 to 2015, where he focused on immigration law and general civil litigation. Judge Estudillo also practiced as an attorney at Scheer and Zehnder LLP from 2002 to 2005, where his practice focused on complex civil litigation. He began his legal career at Jeffers, Danielson, Sonn & Aylward, P.S. Judge Estudillo received his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in 1999 and his B.A. from the University of Washington in 1996.

    Tana Lin: Nominee for the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington

    Tana Lin has worked at Keller Rohrback LLP since 2004: first as an associate from 2004 to 2007, as a partner from 2008 to 2019, and as Of Counsel since 2020. At Keller Rohrback LLP, her practice has focused on representing employees and shareholders in consumer and antitrust litigation. From 2001 to 2004, Ms. Lin was the Litigation Coordinator at the Michigan Poverty Law Program. From 1999 to 2001, she was a Senior Trial Attorney at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's Chicago District Office. From 1995 to 1999, Ms. Lin was an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice Employment Litigation Section. She began her legal career as a Staff Attorney at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia from 1991 to 1995. Ms. Lin received her J.D. from the New York University School of Law in 1991, where she was a Root-Tilden-Snow Scholar, and her A.B., with distinction, from Cornell University in 1988.

    Christine O'Hearn: Nominee for the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey

    Christine O'Hearn is a partner at Brown & Connery LLP, where she has practiced since 1993. Ms. O'Hearn's work focuses on complex labor and employment litigation. She has received numerous honors for her trial work and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. From 2006 to 2007, Ms. O'Hearn was an adjunct professor at the Rutgers University School of Law, Camden. Ms. O'Hearn, who was born and raised in New Jersey, received her J.D. from the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law in 1993 and her B.A. from the University of Delaware in 1990.
