Like a lot of folks, I do a good bit of my shopping online. And frankly, I've gotten spoiled by the timely service. Typically, within a couple of days, my order shows up on my doorstep. No muss, no fuss. This Christmas could be different. Already I've noticed that several of the items I want to buy are now on backorder - and they've been that way for several weeks. Now I'm beginning to wonder if I should chance it and hope the supply chain eases up, or if I should make alternative shopping plans.

Florida Congressman Carlos Gimenez has a plan to ease the disruption. It involves unused CARES Act funding. He discussed it with Joe Kernan of CNBC's Squawk Box.
