Musk Slams ‘False’ Stories About Trump And Asking A Woman Out; Reveals Focus For Work At Twitter | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Elon Musk slammed multiple stories Friday that he deemed as "false" while also revealing what his focus will be when he becomes Twitter's new CEO.

    Two of the stories related to his acquisition of Twitter last month, which was unanimously approved by the company's board of directors in a $44 billion sale valued at $54.20 per share and is in the process of being finalized.

    "If Twitter acquisition completes, company will be super focused on hardcore software engineering, design, infosec & server hardware," Musk tweeted. "I strongly believe that all managers in a technical area must be technically excellent. Managers in software must write great software or it's like being a cavalry captain who can't ride a horse!"

    Musk also addressed a report from the New York Post that claimed former President Donald Trump had quietly "encouraged" Musk to buy the platform.

    "This is false," Musk responded. "I've had no communication, directly or indirectly, with Trump, who has publicly stated that he will be exclusively on Truth Social."

    Musk has previously called the name of Trump's company "terrible," saying that "it should be called Trumpet instead."

    Musk also addressed a post from a random Twitter account, which originally had pretended to be the New York Post before changing its name and photo, that claimed Musk had asked a woman out to attend the recent Met Gala and that he was rejected.

    "It girl, model, singer, songwriter, Sky Ferreira declines date with Elon Musk after being asked by his team at the 2022's Met Gala," the tweet claimed without evidence.

    Musk's mother, Maye Musk, who attended the event with her son, responded to the tweet, "There was no team. I was with Elon. So, NO."

    "I didn't ask anyone out or request particular seating," Musk responded. "This rumor originated from a parody account, but got picked up by real media & twitter trends (sigh)."
