For Immediate Release:

The local 2012 Toys for Tots toy drive was a huge success. Over 6,100 toys were donated, including approximately 150 bikes. Nearly 1,500 children will be served, including 1,000 from Beaufort County, however the toy drive was also able to assist families in Hyde, Washington and Tyrrell counties. Washington Noon Rotary spearheaded this outpouring of love. Rotary members, led by Rich Morin, were the elves that coordinated the box distribution and pickup. The Beaufort–Hyde Partnership for Children board, staff and volunteers coordinated the application process. St. Peter’s Episcopal Church handled the sorting, assembling and distribution of the toys.
Many thanks to all of the local organizations that served as drop off location and to everyone who contributed: Above and below.
