Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera went off on the media during a press conference following his team's Thursday night win in Chicago before walking out of the room.

Rivera became fiery when responding to a question about an ESPN report that claimed Washington owner Dan Snyder was the one who wanted to trade for quarterback Carson Wentz, not Rivera. The investigative report alleged that Snyder wanted to trade for the QB during the offseason to help pull attention away from the controversy surrounding himself.

"Everybody keeps wanting to say I didn't have anything to do with Carson, well bulls***," Rivera shot back. "I'm the f***ing guy that pulled out the sheets of paper, that looked at the analytics, that watched the tape in freaking Indianapolis, and that's what pisses me off. Because the young man doesn't deserve to have that all the time."

The head coach then told the press, "sorry, I'm done," before walking out of the room.

Commanders owner Snyder has faced scrutiny after a report came out in June detailing a sexual assault allegation made against him in 2009 by a former female employee. That was on top of the previous reports of alleged threats he hurled at former Washington cheerleaders.

Wentz, who said he did not know about the ESPN report on Rivera and Snyder, came to the defense of his coach after the press conference.

"Coach Rivera, he's awesome. I've got a ton of respect for him, playing in this league for a while from afar, and getting to play for him is even better. He speaks his mind and he'll be direct and to the point, and in this business that means a lot," Wentz said, according to ESPN.

In his first season with the Commanders after being traded to the team from the Indianapolis Colts, Wentz has put up some impressive numbers, even as his team has struggled at the beginning of the year. He currently stands in second place for passing yards behind Buffalo Bills star QB Josh Allen, adding 10 passing touchdowns in Washington's first six games.
