We know we are to give back to God a portion of what He has given us - but does only money count as tithing? Here are eight activities The Babylon Bee has found that actually count toward your tithe.

  1. Thinking about tithing: It's so rewarding!
  2. Filling out one of those tithing pledge cards at church: Consider it a tithing I.O.U.
  3. Shopping at Hobby Lobby: It's like giving to the church warehouse.
  4. Bringing the actual first fruits from your apricot tree to church: It's more of a literal interpretation of God's command.
  5. Saying to your spouse, "Hey, maybe we should consider tithing": It feels so good to be selfless.
  6. Buying one of those terrible candy bars the youth group sells to raise money for its ski trip: Don't eat it. Learn from us.
  7. Eating at Chick-fil-A: Give the Lord's money back to the Lord's chicken shop.
  8. Volunteering to chaperone the middle school ski trip: Not only does this count for tithing, you also are instantly considered for sainthood!

Feel free to choose more than one and set yourself up with plenty of tithing credit for years to come.
