News release:
Good Afternoon:
I have enclosed a briefing that was done earlier today, but is still very valid. The only thing I would add is that the rainfall we do receive is going to be wind driven and this will create more visibility issues if you are driving. It appears
the worst of the storm may not arrive here until around 7:00 pm this evening.
Click here to access the PDF of that aforementioned briefing.
Once again, it is very important to not get caught outside during one of these storm lines. It is possible there will be two lines of storms separated in time by one half hour so please remain inside until the storms have completely passed by your home. Report power outages to your power provider and downed trees across roads to the Department of Transportation. If you witness or have verified major damage to structures please contact the undersigned. If you are witnessing a life threatening event of any kind please dial 911.

Fire Chiefs and EMS Captains please respect the winds as we dispatch vehicles and crews into harm’s way. Once again, during the Severe Storms please do not use the High Level US 17 bridge for Emergency traffic unless that is your only option. Chiefs and Captains just as a reminder, you have the authority to delay response if the weather situation so dictates as per the Beaufort County Standard Operating Procedures guidelines.
Please be Safe Out There and stay “Weather Aware”.
Thank You for your attention.
