    Good Afternoon Everyone,

    Our office is monitoring an approaching cold front that has the potential to bring strong storms and damaging winds to our area tomorrow evening. Forecast details for Beaufort County include:

    Winds

  • South / Southwest winds are expected to increase after 6pm tomorrow, becoming sustained around 10mph with frequent gust of 15 to 25 mph through Tuesday 3am morning. (Especially along our waterfront and open farmland communities.)

    Rain / Thunderstorms

    Tomorrow will bring two different rounds of rain for our area.

  • The first will be a period of scattered showers (40 to 45% chance) between 6am and noon.
  • The second round is expected to occur between 7pm Monday night and 4am Tuesday (45 to 70% chance), with most areas receiving about a 1/4 inch.
  • Strong to severe thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain, damaging winds and isolated tornados are also possible during this time. (Beaufort Co. has been included in the "Enhanced" weather outlook, meaning numerous severe storms are possible.)

    Attached is an updated briefing for the severe thunderstorm risk on Monday, March 31, 2025.

    WHAT'S NEW - The forecast hasn't changed significantly, but we have added a timing graphic to help depict when we expect the best chance of thunderstorms, and when the greatest risk of strong to severe thunderstorms may be.

    The timing is subject to change, as there are several different scenarios that may play out regarding the thunderstorm risk. Stay tuned for updates through Monday.

Our office is monitoring the likelihood of severe weather across Eastern NC for tomorrow. Forecast details for Beaufort County include:
This morning’s update included minor adjustments to snow accumulations, with Beaufort County forecasted to receive between 8 and 12 inches.
This afternoon’s update continues to indicate “Major Impacts” (Dangerous driving conditions, closures, disruptions with normal daily activities, etc.) from this weekend’s winter weather with Beaufort County currently forecasted to receive 10 and 14 inches of snow.
While this afternoon’s update once again included increased probabilities of moderate to major impacts, it will likely be tomorrow before we receive specific accumulation details.
Our probability for experiencing “Moderate Impacts” (hazardous driving conditions, closures, disruptions with normal daily activities, etc.) increased to between 60 and 80% with this morning’s update
Our office continues to monitor the forecasted potential of another round of winter weather for this Saturday and Sunday.
