Queen Garris Presents the Victory Committee

BY: HOOD RICHARDSON

Finally, after 13 months of asking, Queen Garris, Chairman of the Beaufort County Republican Party has presented the members of her secret “Victory Committee”. They are Carolyn Garris, Ashley Woolard, Steve Rader, Paul Varcoe, Keith Kidwell and their political consultant, Greg Dority. There is a lot to be said about the various abilities, inabilities and political ethics of all these people. I know all of them well. There are several other people whom I am surprised were not named. They hover around the Victory Committee and carry out the wishes of the Victory Committee. We will talk about some of these people in later articles, presuming the Victory Committee is not willing to come clean about its activities.

The Victory Committee was never approved by the new Executive Committee that took office in 2025 and possibly no other Executive Committee.

Who is the Chairman of the Victory Committee? Do they keep minutes? When if ever, will they report their activities to the Beaufort County Republican Executive Committee? Who and how do they draw funds from the Executive Committee without notice or permission of any kind being given by the Beaufort County Executive Committee sitting as a body. A question for the audit committee, “What signed documents does David French, the Treasurer, have to support all those checks he has written?”.

Is the Queen going to appoint an honest Audit Committee? Maybe it will be composed of members of the Victory Committee. These and some of the yet unidentified operatives of the Victory Committee are the only people who would dare to give the Queen a clean financial bill of health.

Those who have been funding and donating money to the Beaufort County Republican Executive Committee need to be aware of how their money is being used to defeat conservative Republican candidates. If you are a liberal Republican who supports the collusion between Fake Frankie Waters and Randy Walker with the two Democrats on the Board of County Commissioners, you are in the right place. This political collusion has denied a decrease in the tax rate, promoted the closing of the school in Aurora, and caused Beaufort County to set a tax rate that increases tax collections, 7.5 percent higher than before the revaluation, among other things.

It was the Victory Committee that spent more than $10,000 to go after conservatives in the nonpartisan 2025 City of Washington elections and because of their carelessness cost two Republicans seats on the Washington City Council. The Victory Committee succeeded in electing two Democrats because they were busy backstabbing conservatives and Republicans.

If you do not support RINOs you should give your political money directly to your preferred Republican candidate. If you support liberals and RINOs keep writing checks to the Beaufort County Republican Party. Money is important in electing candidates. Overall, the Republican Party has a good name. Don’t let this good name con you into supporting RINO’s.

There is an abundance of political ethical rot among the members of the Victory Committee. Keith Kidwell served on the Victory Committee while running an active campaign for the House of Representatives. Ashley Woolard is now a candidate for the Board of Commissioners and still serves on the Victory Committee. Greg Dority is their “political consultant”. Dority has a history of entering primary elections across North Carolina, pretending to be a conservative, in order to split the conservative vote and allow liberals to win elections. It is an oxymoron for the Victory Committee to have a political consultant when everyone on the Victory Committee is a political “operator”.

The political ethical rot is limitless. The Queen serves with the “approval and consent” of the Executive Committee. She appointed herself to the Victory Committee in order to circumvent the wishes of the Executive Committee. This is in political character for her because she withheld the resignation of the Register of Deeds from the Executive Committee so she could maneuver herself into that job that pays more than $78,000 per year.

The Victory Committee has STILL not reported to the Executive Committee. These people live in an alternate reality universe, where they are not accountable for anything, and if they get questioned on their indiscretions it's the boogieman's fault for asking.

I'm afraid CNN would crucify me for my cobservatism .

Rational Observer, The Queen decided to recognize me to speak is what made the meeting civil.
When she does not allow me to be heard there is always trouble. It is not my behavior that has changed, it is Queen Garris.

Ratinal Observer, were you ever a CNN reporter?

The last excom meeting was the best in months. Mr Richardson behaved homself which was a welcomed surprise so we actually had a decent meeting. Buzz Cayton did a great job as the chairman of the precinct committee with excellent suggestions. When there isn't constant negativity from Mr Richardson its amazing how well we can come together as a party. Great speech by Marty Ruiz about the importance of these midterms and reaching youth. Volunteers for various upcoming events and get out the vote efforts. Two months sponsored of rent for the new HQ office space. If things continue as this last meeting went we will deliver Beaufort County for the GOP in record numbers with current trajectory. If Mr Richardson regresses to his normal self yhere will division and lower turnout because of his suppressive effect on the turnout in the public at large. But credit due to him for not acting the fool at this meeting. This is the detached observation of the meeting.

It is disappointing that you continue to spread lies and misinformation. VanZant (Stan) and Hood Richardson, particularly Stan Deatherage, rarely attend GOP Executive Committee meetings. You seem more interested in creating discord than in contributing positively. You do not listen; instead, you merely wait to express negative comments that lead to nothing constructive. Your intention does not appear to be building up the party, but rather throwing stones from the sidelines.

The victory committee members have been announced several times. The chair wanted to make sure the minutes reflected the members as she had done before. Stop spreading falsehoods and start contributing. Oh, that's right—you don't volunteer or support any GOP events or activities. Your behavior tarnishes the reputation of conservatives. Your continuous attacks on dedicated conservative Republicans are getting old. If you are going to call yourself a conservative, act like one.

The response from RO is indicative of the lack of respect for fair play that comes from the present "leadership". These deviations from Republican Party rules as well as platform planks make them hypocrites in what they are actually selling politically. In other words, if they use poor practices in their organization, why should we expect better practices from them if we elect them to public offices? I think smarter candidates are distancing themselves from the party for that reason.

I got a report about the Executive Committee meeting on Tuesday night. Said they gave an updated listing of the Victory Committee members and added the Vice-Chair. LOL That was interesting because even though the "leadership" constantly demonstrates they do not want to hear from the committee itself, they do hear the Beaufort Observer! Also, they do not care a wit that it is stipulated in their own Plan of Organization! It is obvious that this bunch given their basic instincts want to dictate and will only eventually follow some of the rules if pressured or shamed into doing so.

My friend says the "leadership" still claims to have the right to create secret committees without Executive Committee approval and with committee organizational life extending beyond conventions and perpetuating permanently beyond the life of actual legitimate Executive Committees themselves over time. In short, they have created a ruling oligarchy that survives independently of party conventions, party rules, elected party executive committees, or anything else while simultaneously controlling the elected party. So ultimately, this self-proclaimed, unelected oligarchy, follows NO rules and has complete control of the party.

You have to look hard to find any committee anywhere so rooted in corruption as this one in Beaufort County.
