The Beaufort County Jail Committee met November 6, 2013. If you had attended it would have been a waste of your time, but we are posting the video here for the record. Maybe this is why Chairman Langley did not want the public to see what they're doing.

If you're not inclined to take 22 minutes of your time to watch the video suffice it to say that nothing much happened. They (mostly Al Klemm) did put on a show trying to make it look like they're going about the boondoggle in an efficient way, but it did not impress us. Clearly Al is The Man On The Jail. They've advertised for an architect and a construction manager and expect to get some proposals back in time to recommend contacts for those positions at the January 6, 2014 BOC meeting.

At the end of the meeting, just before they adjourned a citizen asked to address the Committee. Chairman Langley refused. You can hear and see the rude way in which the citizen was treated by Langley on the video. The citizen is John Cantrell, although he is not seen on the screen.
