new Democrat congresswoman from NC Womack has pending felony charge against her | Eastern NC Now

How low can some NC voters go?  We now have a Democrat congresswoman elect who the week after winning her seat will have to make a court appearance for a Class H felony, what used to be known as a "10 year felony".

The dude she won the seat from is no prize himself.  Republicans are all too familiar with corrupt Tim Moore, whose tenure as NC House Speaker was a constant game of "pay to play".  Then he drew himself a congressional district after extensive publicity of him being sued by an outraged husband over Moore engaging in a long sexual relationship with the guy's wife.  Moore did not seem to draw his new congressional district too well, because he just lost it by about 2,000 votes.

The newly elected Democrat congresswoman, if anything, seems to be a step DOWN from Moore.  Lakesha Womack is facing a felony charge of failing to return a rented vehicle to Budget Rent a Car, which has a penalty similar to stealing a car.  Her first court date is November 10, next week.

It turns out the failure to return the car occurred back in October 2019, and she was unable to be located after a criminal summons was issued in January 2020.  With her congressional campaign, someone finally figured out how to find her and she was served with criminal process two weeks ago.

A TV reporter asked Ms. Womack what happened to the car and she would not answer.

This is the low caliber of candidate the Democrats have put forward.  It is certain that Democrat operatives will be out there trying to pull strings to make this case go away.
