Texas is suffering from even that much of this unreliable wind and solar, which was largely foisted upon them by people chasing federal subsidies. We saw that with a winter blackout due to the unreliability of wind and solar, and many other times, including in recent weeks, where the grid was strained and had to buy power on the open market to avoid blackouts due to wind droughts and the fact that solar does not produce at all at night. When the grid has to buy power on the open market, power bills to customers go to the moon, but the alternative is blackouts.
That is the chaos that our legislative RINOs, including Sen. Jim Perry, are foisting on NC with HB951, the NC Green New Deal. But Texas is doing something to counter the impact of those federal subsidies, passing state legislation to put state fees on wind and solar to counterbalance the federal subsidies. www.houstonchronicle.com

This is a crooked insider deal and law enforcement needs to look into it. Brooks needs to repay the money.
The problem is not just crooked deals, it is the overspending by Sadler's faction, of which Brooks is a yes-man, They gave us a massive 10% tax increase and need to be voted our of office. The other two votes for Sadler's tax increase were Mike Renn and Lou Hoiges. Tenn in not running again, but Sadler has two other yes-men who are running, Antwom Horton and Anthony Tyre. All of these spendtrifts need to be defeated.

Is this one of the reasons that Sadler and his council lackeys gave us a 10% tax increase? To spend money like this? Voters need to throw the rascals OUT.
Where was the city manager on all of this? He is supposed to look over city financial activities. Was he too incompetent to catch on what was happening? Or did he keep his mouth shut to please Sadler? Either way, the question is why should he still have a job? Hopefully this has been reported to the appropriate authorities, whether that is the Local Government Commission, the State Auditor, the state Attorney General, the local sheriff, or whoever. One person they need to question, in addition to the perps, is the city manager.

The climate alarmist agenda is a pro-China agenda, and they are helping fund the propaganda for it. It makes us dependant on China for our energy, since they dominate materials and equipment for solar and wind power, and because of their dominance in electric car batteries, it will transfer automaking from American and Europe to China. Jackson is portrayed teaching students as a professor at VMI. It is outrageous the attacks that the far left is making on our history. The National Cathedral is beneath contempt for removing them.

So only the powerful special interests have the money to buy Pay-to-Play Perry? Like Big Medicine or the Green New Deal crowd? Look at Perry's liberal voting record and then look at the special interests that bought him. The latest is the casino cabal, and it cost them over $40,000 to buy Perry. Yeah, he is not cheap, but he is for sale to the highest bidder.
And actually Causey has a very strong record of helping consumers when they have a problem with insurance companies. The problem between Perry and Causey has to do with that crooked Blue Cross bill that Perry pushed and Causey vocally opposed. That bill royally screwed consumers to pander to a special interest that gave Perry money. And Perry was throwing consumers under the bus while Causey was standing up for their rights.

This is not about free enterprise. It is about corrupt power politics to push the desires of a corrupt special interest that has bought the political favor of several powerful politicians inlcuding Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger and this district's pay-for-play senator Jim Perry. They are playing hardball with conscientious legislators, threatening to take all the money for their districts out of the budget unless they support the casinos. That is extortion and Berger and Perry are some of the chief extortionists.
There is the victim town, Summerfield, in Berger's home county. They have already passed a resolution that they do not want the casino. Hundreds of citizens have turned out to meetings opposing the casino. What did Berger do? He rammed through a bill de-annexing a doughnut hole in the town where the casino was planned and took away even extra-territorial zoning power from the town. This is all about a big contributor and buddy of Berger who wants to build a casino and his corrupt power politics to run over everybody elese to help him. I have heard that Berger is going to get a primary challenge and he badly needs one. Our own corrupt senator, Jim Perry, does too. And, hey, Walter Brown, the presidents who grab the private parts of women are Bill Clinson and Joe Biden. Ask Tata Reid, a former member of Biden's senate staff who he digitally raped (i.e. with his finger) against her will. That was secual abuse of an employee but the crooked MSM sweeps things like that under the rug for the Democrats.

One of the big threats to fishing are the offshore wind turbines that Biden and Cooper are pushing. For a bottom swelling fish like a flounder, the power cables from wind turbines present a major threat, as they do to crabs, lobsters, and other sea creatures. Wind turbines are already causing whale deaths.

Maybe Lou Hodges is in Sadler's stable now. She said she would vote against Sadler's tax increases but then voted for them. She got elected off of a sympahy vote for Mac, but I think that has faded.
Richard Brooks is only semi-literate, and an easy politician for a political boss to lead around by the nose. Don't know anything about this Horton dude, but if Sadler recruited him to tun that is a huge red flag. One sign to watch for is who shows up at Sadler political events. All such council candidates should be under suspircion.

For many decades, the city has been dealing with stormwater out of the regular city budget with tax money. This was hived off as a "utility" to cover up a tax increase some years ago. They kept the official tax rate the same, saying they were just adding a utility fee. As if voters could not see through that bullshit. Now they are playing similar dishonest games to hide another tax increase. After raising our city taxes a whopping ten percent last year, they are now back to their crooked shell game in an election year. Shame on you, Mayor Sadler.

The climate charade has always been a political ploy since it was revived in the 1980s. A Swedish physicist concocted it in the 1890s and it got no traction then. When a British scientific magazine mentioned this old and discredited theory in an article, Prime Minister Thatcher saw it as useful in battling her enemies the coal miner unions and the arab oil sheiks and to help in promoting her vision of nuclear power, so her government put out a bunch of grant money. It was totally politically motivated, but they knew if they set out a pig trough of money, scientists will come running with their tongues hanging out for grants, and they did. Since then, the globalists at the UN, WEF, and elsewhere have seen the benefit to keep the money flowing to advance their agenda, as have the Russians and Chinese.
The globalist totalitarians have even been floating the idea of climate lockdowns. Former Czech Republic president and prime minister Dr. Vaclav Klaus said it best when he described climate alarmism as "a budding totalitarian ideology that is the greatest threat to freedom, democracy, and prosperity in the world today." President Klaus has written a book "Blue Planet in Green Shackles: what is in jeopardy - climate or freedom?" that has been published in eight languages. If Margaret Thatcher had known who would have picked up on this charade, I suspect she would never have gotten it started with the politically motivated money she put into it.

Gas prices - No one else seems to have joined Speedway's big increase this time. In fact, one station reduced its price in response. The 76 convenience store on Bridge Street lowered its price by 3 cents from $3.42 to $3.39 after Speedway upped its price from $3.45 to $3.59. So that 76 station is now the cheapest in town and 20 cents a gallon lower than Speedway.

Roy Cooper wants to make homes cost more, which is why he wants all that environmental extremists stuff in the Building Code. He is tryiing to use the bureaucracy to make laws, just like Biden. These things have lots of impacts. At least in Pamlcio County, there is no local taxpayer money going into it, although there will undoubtedly be taxpayer money from other levels in it. There are also impacts on nearby property values that need to be considered and other impacts. It is feared that Beaufort County's Democrat-RINO alliance will push us even deeper into this mess than a mere resolution.

Fani Willis has never charged Stacey Abrams for her repeated claims of election fraud and that she really won the 2018 Georgia governor's race, or the many Democrats who joined in that claim. Abrams is right there in Georgia, but she is a Democrat, and in the corrupt Democrat "justice" system there are very different rules for Democrats than Republicans. Fani Willis is a disgrace who is abusing her office for a political hit job. She needs, at a minimum to be removed from office.

I cannot remember a presidential general election debate where the GOP nominee was not having to debate the biased liberal moderators as well as the Democrat nominee. I read that the RNC is not going to deal with the badly biased establishemt swamp Presidential Debate Commission any more but instead negotiate directly with the Democrat Party to arrange debates. That is a step forward, but reining in the ezcess control by the moderators needs to be part of the equation. In last night's debate the bias of the moderators showed repeatedly.
Their trying to rope the candidates into agreeing to the globalist climate orthodoxy with a show of hands was repulsive. It was good to see multiple candidates rebuke them in detail on that.

During the Medieval Warm Period, which was significantly warmer than today for several centuries, there was no need for people to rethink how they did anything. Indeed, with the warm weather, it was a very prosperous time. It was the next cycle, a cold cycle known as the Little Ice Age or the Maunder Minimum, that presented more of a challenge to human society. Then there was the granddaddy of all warm periods, the Holocene Maximum, when it was much warmer than today for three thousand years. That was the heyday of ancient Greek civilization, and ancient Greek writings show they also did not have to rethink anything due to it being warm, and again it was a very prosperous time.

Hawaii's electric company KNEW the lesson. THey studied what happened in California FIVE YEARS AGO. And it is MORE than just turning power off sometimes. It is protecting power lines from blowing down. But they would rather build hideous and inefficient wind and solar farms instead.
It is your woke "global warming" narrative that is untrue. The Earth has always gone through cyclical warming and cooling cycles. We are in one of those natural cycles right now and turning over our energy sector to control by China which dominates the wind and solar supply chain is just nuts, Bolshevik Bob. Hawaii's woke electric company studied the problems with power lines blowing down in high winds in California and starting wildfires five years ago but did nothing to secure their power lines at home, They would rather fritter sawy their time on the woke climate narrative than protect their customers from wildfire by makking their lines more secure. California's electric company got sued for that, and Hawaii's should as well.

Solar and wind power also threaten the consumers' pocketbooks. Everywhere solar and wind have been implemented in a big way has seen huge electric rate increases for consumers. Germany's residential electric rates have zoomed to three times those of North Carolina since Merkel started her "energy trasnistion" to wind and solar. Even compared to its neighbors, German electric rates are twice as high as neighboring nuclear powered France and almost three times as high as coal-fired Poland. That is what these despicable RINOs Berger and Moore are bringing to North Carolina, working hand in glove for the same policies as Biden.
Browny, you have hit the nail on the head. Red China dominates the supply chain for both raw materials and finished equipment for the wind and solar boondoggles. Going to wind and solar is making us dependent on China, a dangerous enemy, for our energy.
