If the only media you consume are dishonest, your viewpoint will likely be dishonest, too. The American MSM stopped doing real journalism, and moved to what they call "advocacu journalism" some time ago, and that amounts to being propagandists for a particular side instead of journalists. The more liberal media of some foreign countries still do real journalism to a point. And, Bobbie, you only cite the leftwing sources if you cite any sources at all.

Let me give you an example of the difference in US media. The New York Times has never been anything but a propaganda sheet. Before Bezos bought it, the Washington Post on the other hand, while it had a recognizable liberal bias, it still did real journalism where you could get accurate information and a semblbance of both sides. When I travelled to DC, I always bought both the more conservative Washington Times and the Washington Post, but I never bothered with pickiing up even a free copy (as on international flights) of the New York Times. Sadly, since Bezos bought the Washington Post, it has become like the New York Times, so I don't bother with it anymore. On the other hand, when I am in an airport lounge in the UK, I read all of the newspapers across the spectrum that are available, because all of them, in spite of their slant, all still do real journalism.

What Bragg has done is to take two instances that at most would have been minor misdemeanors, and on which the statute of limitations had long run out, and try to gin them up into 34 "felonies". The Federal Election Commission said this was not a violation when it was presented to them, but a crooked local Soros prosecutor, Bragg, who has no jurisdiction over federal law, decides to go after Trump on this.

Michael Cohen and Stormy Danials are serial liars who talk out of both sides of their mouths. And, even if it were true, which it probably isn't, non-disclosure agreements like that are legal in all 50 states. And what billionaire keeps his own business records? They have employees for that.

This persecution is as bogus as the Reichstag fire or the Stalin Show Trials.

Oh! The liberal MSM website Newsweek, that used to be a magazine? That link shows that they, too, are in the "fact check" spin game. So, you did get this from one of the phoney "fact check" spin sites. And they set up a similar straw man to knock down as I predicted. The legislation IS about whether illegal aliens will be represented in Congress, and the Democrats DID vote in favor of that.

This is very encouraging. I would love to see these despicable goons prosecutred in a heavily Republican Missouri county and do some serious time in a Missouri prison. And yes, the crooked judges, too.

Time to debunk Little Bobbie with his broken record assertion, that as usual is false.

If you did primary research on this bill by looking it up on an official Congressional record site and then read the bill and looked at the votes on the bill, everything in the post and the linked article is absolutely true.

But I am sure Little Bobbie, instead went to one of those left wing spin sites that call themselves "fact checkers", many of them funded by far left totalitarian money man George Soros. Looking at the bill and the account of it, seeing the straw man those hack sites would set up just to knock down was obvious.

I did not look at those spin sites, but the obvious straw man was to say the claim was that this bill would give illegal aliens the vote. That is never claimed in the article, but by spinning it that way, they can then say it does not.

What the bill actually seeks to do is limit "representation" to American citizens. Representation is apportioned after every census based on population. The Democrats want that to include illegal aliens, because that would give them more seats in areas favorable to them, while Republicans follow the more Constitutional interpretation that representation should be based on number of citizens. By shifting the number of congressmen among states, that also shifts the votes of states within the electoral college.

What this bill involved was whether to count illegal aliens for Congressional representation in the next census. Every Democrat on the floor voted for that and every Republican on the floor voted to limit it to actual citizens.

ONce you drill down on the details, it is easy to see the fraudulent spin that lefties like these bogus "fact checkers" can make. And it is easy to understand that the article cited is absolutely correct.

We have seen enough in the persecution of Trump to know that the functioning of courts in New York are far below the standards in even Third World backwaters. It is embarassing to all thinking Americans. Dershowitz sure has this one pegged.

A candidate who keeps loudly claiming to be a conservative at campaign time but has no record on conservative issues before the campaign comes across as a fake, a counterfeit conservative. The more they shout that claim at the top of their lungs, the more suspicious I get. When they start advocating popular conservative issues, that they don't even seem to understand and have no prior record of involvment on, it is clear that they are trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

Always look at the RECORD, not the campaign claims on all candidates.

A good example is Bob Brinson, who spent a wad of establishment money in his primary beating his chest that he was a conservative. Late in the campaign, the mother of all special interest groups, the Chamber of Commerce sent out postcards supporting Brinson, making him a "Chamber of Commerce Republican", which is the opposite of a conservative. Brinson's record in public office showed nothing conservative but one red flag of liberalism, voting to raise taxes. Of course, he papered over that in his campaign by putting out postcards that he was for cutting taxes, but that was NOT what he actually did in his own political record.

Our outgoing Senator, Jim Perry, was awful, constantly taking the lead on pushing liberal issues, but I do not have much hope of Brinson being much better.

The "Repubican" nominee for State Treasurer, Brad Briner, is indeed an example of this. Having voted in the Democrat primary as recently as 2020, he is sure no conservative but sent out postcards claiming he was. He also works for gun controller promoter Michael Bloomburg, which should have made him a non-starter in the primary, but he succeeded in pulling the wool over too many eyes.

I could easily see this happen in Beaufort County Schools. Start with the fact that some of the teachers (what percent I could only guess) are flaming liberals. Add to that a liberal education establishment superintendant and central office. The final problem is that a majority of the school board, including all of those running this year, are seat warmers who are rubber stamps for the liberal superintendant.

I could even name one high school English teacher who would be a prime suspect to start something like this rolling.

Parents in all school board races need to go to the polls and throw the rascals out this November. Davidson County, a Republican county, clearly needs that very badly, and it is something we need in Beaufort County as well. Mack Hodges, Eltha Booth, and T.W. Allen are all Cheeseman sock puppets.

On results in criminal cases, the prosecution matters as much as the defense. Targeting of certain groups, like the political right targeted by leftwing prosecutors, such as Soros prosecutors, has a lot to do with outcomes as well. In the case of Alvin Bragg. the Manhattan prosecutor bought and paid for by George Soros, he reduces the felonies of a majority of real criminals to misdemeanors or just dismisses them, but for a top GOP political target like Trump, he does just the opposite, takes what at best are two misdemeanors on which the statute of limitations has run and elevates them to 34 "felonies".

The most inexperienced public defender would have a much easier time getting a good result for his client in front of a politically corrupt Soros prosecutor like Bragg than the most highly paid attorneys representing his political target. The data strongly supports that argument.

And the elephant in the room is the judge. A crimimal always has a hard time in front of what people call a "hanging judge" but that is a rare breed in big cities. On the other hand a political defendant is in for a world of hurt when the judge is an extreme political partisan of the opposing side like Juan Merchan.

Yeah, in the case of the cancel culture War on History far left, Chariman Mao's Little Red Book seems to be your Bible. You are trying to incite your own Cultural Revolution here in the western countries and it is just as evil as Mao's original.
Commented: Tuesday, May 7th, 2024 @ 7:34 am By: Conservative Voter
The left is trying to cancel our history because they are following the playbook of Chairman Mao's disastrous Cultural Revolution. Its what totalitarians do.

In his novel "1984", George Orwell wrote of the actions to stamp out history from that novel's tyrant "Big Brother":
"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And that process is continuing day be day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except the endless present in which the party is always right."

Those on the far left who follow the path of Chairman Mao and of "Big Brother" are totalitarians and their agenda needs to be totally rejected.

So in this thread Bolshevik Bob is an old school Marxist, trying to divide society by economic level, even though that is a bogus argument on these issues, while on other posts he is a neo-Marxist who tries to divide on the basis of race.

Not Trump's fault that Bobbie is an idiot.

According to reports today, Biden is delaying arms shipments to Israel to put political pressure on Israel for the same objective as the pro-Hamas college riots. Biden also pressured Israel to reopen a border crossing from Gaza to Egypt, and then Israel knuckled under to Biden's demand, Hamas fired rockets at the Israeli soldiers at that border post, killing three of them.

In his mad rush after the Muslim vote, it looks like Biden is throwing away the Jewish vote. Playing politics for the Hamas terrorists is likely to bite Biden in the ass on election day.

Dividing everything on class and wealth is old school Marxism, Bolshevik Bob. I thought you were a neo-Marxist who prefers to divide society based on things like your favorite, race. Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Donald Trump are all among what most of us would call "rich" but got very different treatment over classified documents due solely to political discrimination.

How Republicans get "caught up" in these political prosecutions can be summed up in a quote from the KGB chief to Stalin: "Show me the man and I will find you the crime". This approach sumes up Jack Smith, Fani Willis, and Alvin Bragg.

The two tier justice system as it exists today in America is Republicans on one hand and Democrats on the other. It is based on politics, not wealth. It is much like Putin's Russia in that regard. And when you are dealing with Soros prosecutors like Alvin Bragg, the old poor vs. rich thing is stood on its head anyway. For real criminals, Bragg reduces most felonies to misdemeanors or dismisses them completely, but for his political target Trump, he raises what would be two misdeamnors, if they are anything, to 34 felonies, and he totally ignores the statute of limitations, which has long run out on them.

Little Bobbie confuses ideology with race, but I guess that is common with a woke racist. Bizarrely, one of the two "black" authors he cites was actually a white woman.

Even more strange, those suggestions come from his assertion that Biritish and American viewpoints on the Revolutionary War are substantially different. Did either of those books have anything to do with that or even mention the Revoluitionary War? Bobbie is just off on one of his racial tangents again.
Commented: Monday, May 6th, 2024 @ 6:55 am By: Conservative Voter
The politically corrupt two-tier "justice" system is well illustrated by Trump being prosecuted and Hillary and Biden not being prosecutred over these documents cases. To rebuild democracy, we need a fruitbasket turnover at DOJ and FBI. The corruption, however, clearly goes even deeper than that.

The next administration is going to need a special prosecutor on election interference to bring to justice those who are abusing our court system for political purposes.

Trump's record in governing beats the pants off of the pathetic and dictatorial Biden regime. And WOKE is who has the actual record of "burning it all down".

As to undergraduate universities, when I was studying at one in the 1970s, there were lots of left-liberal professors who wore it on their sleave but darn few conservatives, and the few that were conservative rarely said anything to show it openly in class. From students I have talked to, it is much, much worse today. More balance is desperately needed in universities.

History can be told as 1) objective history, 2) slanted history that ignores inconvenient facts and glosses over things with generalizations, or 3) all out historical propaganda. Communist countries are noted for the last version, and that is certainly what one would get in communist Vietnam. The ideal standard for history in a democracy is objective history.

A slogan widely used by the communists has been "history is on our side" and the modern American far left has revised that slogan to become "the right side of history". Communists when they are in power constantly try to destroy and rewrite history. Chairman Mao's Cultural Revolution is a prime example and one that seems to be the concept behand the American and European far left's cancel culture.

A good example of objective history is compare what a modern German student learns about World War II and what an American student learns. There is very little difference because both countries are democratic and, at least for now, tend to look at history objectively.

George Orwell has written extensively about how totalitarian regimes try to rewrite history in their drive to control the present and future. We are now seeing some of the things Orwell predicted being advanced by the far left in American and in Europe.

The middle point is slanted history, which sticks to facts but relies on selective facts to skew interpretations. A good example is the history of the War Between the States. Those writing from a northern perspective will leave out things like the Corwin Amendment and the Fremont Affair which call into question the basic northern narrative about the war and are therefore memory-holed. Similarly, there are things that one writing from a southern perspective would gloss over. Mildly slanted history is not so bad as the heavily slanted history that borders on pure propaganda.

I prefer objective history, but mildly slanted history is readable if one recognizes the slant they are being presented with.

When one gets to some of the left's distorted history like the 1619 Project, its authors are writing through a prism, not a lens.

There is no "white history" or "black history". There is simply only history.

Confederate history is also the history of many ethnic groups, like the highest ranking minority to serve in the war on either side, Confederate General Stand Watie, whose statue has been attacked by BLM/ANTIFA thugs. I would point out that the Yankees, in contrast, did not even let minorities serve as officers at any rank. Confederate heroes who distinguished themselves in battle include Moses Dallas, a black Confederate naval officer, who was instrumental in planning and helped lead one of the most daring exploits of the war, the capture of the Union warship USS Waterwitch while she was on blockade duty off Savannah in a surprise nighttime attack boarding from small boats. When the far left tries to cancel Confederate history, people like Watie and Dallas are among those they cancel.

That is also true of Confederate political history, where Judah P. Benjamin of Louisiana became the first person of the Jewish religion to hold cabinet rank in a government this side of the Atlantic. Benjamin served in the cabinet of President Jefferson Davis throughout the war, successively as Secretary of State, Attorney General, and Secretary of War.

There Little Bobbie goes again with his Common Core math. Before, he claimed Jim Crow lasted 120 years, and now he is down at least to 100, but the correct factual answer is about 60 years. Jim Crow laws came in around the turn of the century across the south. North Carolina adopted its first one in the 1899 legislative session but most of them were in the 1901 session.

Those laws were motivated by the Democrats trying to regain control in some states or maintain control in others as white small farmers abandoned the Democrats in the mid 1890s over a feeling that the Democrats were the party of the wealthy special interests (hmmm, a lot like today) and abandoned it for the new Populist Party. The Populists then ran a fusion campaign with the Republicans. The Democrats responded with a white supremacy strategy to divid those white small farmers from the Republicans, and keyed in on the fact that most blacks of that era voted Republican. The Democrats did not wake up one morning and decide they hated blacks. Instead, it was a matter of political strategy to recapture the white small farmer vote from the Populists who were allied to the Republicans.

I do not condone what the Democrats did. My own party, the Republicans voted against all those Jim Crow laws when the Democrats put them through the legislature and I would have joined them if I were living in those times. But I do recognize that rather than being inherently racist, the Democrats of that period decided that pushing racism and white supremacy was a winning political strategy for them to recapture the white farmer vote they had lost to the Populists. There cynical use of the race card in those times for political purposes is as evil as the way the Democrats do it now with DEI.

The looting, arson, rape, and murder of white and black Southern civilians by Sherman, Sheridan, and Stoneman, not only violated the Geneva Convention of 1863 but also violated the Common Law of War as those officers and others had been taught at West Point. Sherman's idea of "total war" was not much different from the Serbs in Bosnia. What Sherman did was a war crime by today's standards and also by the standards of his own period.

FIghting for southern indepdence was NOT a sin, but vicious attacks on our history IS totalitarian.

I was listening to Andrew McCarthy, a former federal prosecutor in New York City today. He has been following all the proceedings of the Trump prosecution by Alvin Bragg and Juan Merchan. He cited several really off the wall evidentiary rulings by Judge Merchan that were against "black letter law" (very well settled principles of law) both in restricting evidence and witnesses on behalf of Trump and allowing Bragg's witnesses to testify to things they should not. This judge's extreme political bias just keeps getting worse. This trial is a mockery of justice in so many ways.

The White House and DOJ officials involved are Biden political appointees. They are joined ata the hip with Biden. Biden himself is so spacey, he probably would not even understand what they are talking about. Jack Smith, Alvin Bragg, and Fani Willis' boyfriend all had meetings at the White House on their prosecutions of Trump. That stinks to high heaven as does Fani Willis' meeting with Kamala Harris.

Wally is extremely ifnoran t of the Presidential Records Act. The Biden political appointee at Archives did NOT have unilateral authority to determine what did and did not fall within that act. All court decisions under that act have ruled that the president had very broad authority on what to retain.

And what about BIden? There is absolutely NO authority for a former vice president or a former senator to keeps the documents he did, lots of them in mulitple places.

If you think that historical timeline equals 120 years, Little Bobbie, you must be using Common Core Math where two plus two can equal anything you want it to be. Your number about doubles the actual timeline.

Jim Crow DID very much know a party and it was the Democrat Party. When North Carolina passed its Jim Crow laws in 1899 and 1901, all the Democrats voted for them and all the Republicans and Populists voted against them. That is pretty darn clear cut.

DEI is the notions that people should be treated as members of groups instead of individuals, that equality of opportunity should be replaced by equality of result, and that everyone should be treated as "oppressed" or an "oppresser" based on things that happened before they were even born. These notions are purely Marxist and entirely un-American.

Surrendering to this Marxist crap is a lose - lose for everyone except the progressive ideologues trying to control us.

120 years? You must be on your second bottle of Old Crow, Bobbie! Lets look at some real history instead of your fairy tales.

The War Between the States ended in 1865 and was followed by Reconstruction, during which northern troops occupying the South often disenfranchised southern whites who had fought for the Confederate states and politically promoted southern blacks. Northern troops were withdrawn in 1877, although Reconstruction impacts lingered for some additional years in some southern states. The gap between the end of Reconstruction and the advent of Jim Crow varied by state, so lets look at North Carolina. Black North Carolinians, who mostly voted Republican were active politically throughout the late 19th century, and participated heavily in the "fusion" campaign of 1894, in which a coalition of Republicans and Populists won control of the legislature. In 1896, the "fusion"coalition won the governorship and increased control of the legislature, and with the latter, also a US Senate seat. The successful fusion candidates included a black congressman and a dozen black legislators. It was that victory which led the Democrats to start plotting against the black population in order to regain power. In the 1898 election, the Democrats ran as strident white supremists and won back control of the legislature. The 1898 Wilmington massacre was part of the Democrat white supremacy campaign.

NC's first Jim Crow laws were enacted by the new Democrat majority legislature in 1899, but the most onerous ones came in with the 1901 legislative session.

The beginning of the end of Jim Crow came with court decisions in the 1950s, and the final stake was driven through its heart by Congressional Civil Rights bills in the mid 1960s. Not only did legislative Republicans vote unanimously against the NC Jim Crow bills of 1899 and 1901, but Republicans in Congress heavily supported the civil rights bills of the 1960s.

You are the Democrat, Bobbie, so it is you who should be "proud" of Jim Crow! It is your side that imposed it on North Carolina. So go enjoy your bottle of Old Crow. And learn the true history before making stupid statements that display your ignorance of history
