But they could not find enough money to keep Snowden School open?
Maybe they can rent some of the half-filled schools they already have for mini-storage. We really are lucky to have such brilliant people leading our county, serving our people, and saving us money.

We went through this ordeal with Savvis and the second choice. At the time this was being reviewed, the opening shot from Savvis was the Rain-bow Flag. The second choice selected by Cheeseman's finest committee has a slide on "how to confront the church". Adam Oneal showed this in a slide presentation made to the school board. If it is true that Hudson is pushing this, he needs to talk to the church people who supported him in the last election. It has been suggested several times that the board review the Hillsdale social studies curriculum, which is free and comes with the lesson plans but it has been stalled by this bunch at every turn. As we see our country waking up to reality, we see this bunch living on the wrong side of history. Woke is broke and DEI is dead. The board needs to wake up and examine why you have low-performing schools and 30 to 35% of our children at reading level.

Commented on Beating the Dead School HorseI made that statement Tongue-in-cheek, John Steed, but it turned out to be true. Where were Elthel Booth, Ed Booth, and Jerry Langly on defending the underserved in Richland Township? Let'em ride the bus.

Commented on The Closing of S. W. Snowden Elementary School Appears to be a Done Deal – Unless the School Board Grows a SpineI apologize to the general public for supporting and working to elect these no-votes to the School Board. This turned out to be a real mistake. I pray that we will be able to find competent replacements for them in the next election. What about the County Commission and dollars over people? Look at their surplus funds and the recent Reval. Where is the heart of Elthel Booth, School Board; Ed Booth and Jerry Langly, County Commission, who should be champions for the predominantly black students in Snowden. All voted to close the school. Let's be sure that those who go to vote next time never forget. Did this bunch drink the Frankie Waters Kool-Aid on more school consolidation, along with Cheeseman? They just drove the nail in the coffin for Aurora and Created a nightmare for first graders riding a school bus.

How can Jerry Langley, Ed Booth, and Eltha Booth vote to turn their back on these kids in Richland Township? I grew up down there close to Cox's Crossroads, and we did not treat folks that way when I was young. Those children should not be victims of poor judgment.

Commented on Why the bow-down to the superintendent? This entire group seems to treat this like a dart game—tossing a few million dollars here, a few million there, just to see what sticks. And if it doesn’t work out? No problem—they’ll just build another one.
Who has been hired to assess what’s actually needed? Cheeseman? None of the current School Board members have the credentials to make these decisions without input from qualified demographers, engineers, and traffic consultants. This “seat-of-their-pants” approach to running our county must end. It’s clear we need a serious house cleaning.

The weak Beaufort County School Board cannot understand that Cheeseman is hired help. Students are opting for private schools and homeschooling due to the failure of our public schools. Just like successful companies, it all goes back to management. Ego and passive-aggressive bullying is not management.

It can be challenging to remain completely objective when addressing deeply ingrained prejudices and beliefs. The primary necessity within the Local Republican Party should be to set aside minor personal conflicts and concentrate on the actual needs and improvements required for local governance and the methods through which we can implement them.
The Republican Party should prioritize what benefits the people, free from personal bias. Morality, integrity, honesty, and truthfulness are often missing in national politics. While the local party can't control the national scene, they can uphold these values locally. "Trust but verify," "Consider the source," and "We the people" are essential principles that should be kept in mind for future endeavors of the Local Republican Party.

If you review some of the past video meetings, you will see that Cheeseman reads the rules for the meeting. He is not a member of the School Board. He is hired help. He is to carry out his job and responsibilities, report, request and to be held responsible for his duties. He is not the chairman of the school board. Looks like we do not have one.

I was surprised that the Dems did not have one person dressed in Trans garb to go along with the pink outfits. They did not remember that for some of us old guys, Pink meant Pinkos (like communists of old). Or maybe that was subliminal campaigning.

While the present management diddles with lights for the soccer fields and monolith buildings to consolidate schools for less individual help and more discipline problems, what is being done for our under-served students? The ones with 40% to 47% at home with no daddy. The ones that are now four years behind since Covid. I see the foo-foo about buildings but how about this huge segment of children that will drop out as soon as they can? Then back on the street. Learning how to work the system for welfare and missing a life that could have been. What is the plan for this group? Never herd it mentioned at a school board meeting.

Will, without a disclaimer, Cheesaman is declaring the actual value of this property and would need to produce a certified value to prove his validity. If presented to a bank, this could be a fraudulent action.

The confusing thing is that the School Board has not learned that the Superintendent works for them. He is hired-help. Yet he sits at the front desk with his secretary, alongside the School Board Chairman, and reads the rules for the School Board at each meeting. He is not a member of the board but functions as one. Now Cheeseman is an engineer and didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn last night. Parents need to get involved.

It is a lot to digest in one sitting, but I wonder if we should help them understand that bussing means K students (5 years old) will be riding on their own on a bus. The oldest child will be 8 or 9 years old. Will a five-year-old get off of the bus and run out in the street?

There is a huge list that needs to be taken care of in our health system.
A major help would be the elimination of CON (Certificate of Need) and then Tort Reform. Texas is a good model. They were successful in killing CON and getting reasonable limits on Tort Reform. Competition always improves service. We do not have sufficient GP’s because the system discourages local practices.

Stan is right. We not only fail to remember but fail to teach this to our children. Once in a while we hear the term “The greatest generation” and most young people have no idea what that means.
I was almost seven years old when I was sitting in my father’s chair in pajamas listening to a re-run of “Jack Armstrong the all-American boy” on that Sunday morning when I heard the announcement that Pearl Harber had been bombed. In less than a year the Army came to my Dad, while we lived in Blounts Creek, and asked if they could put an Observation Post in our side yard. It did not take an act of Congress or a court action, my Dad said yes. We were at war. My mother became the Chief Observer, and we spotted airplanes for the entire war. By the time I was nine years old, I could identify all planes that flew by their silhouette. I thought I was in the Army.
