You are incorrect. If you want them gone, stop supporting businesses that hire them. Yes, that impacts the rich and white. Ironic, huh?

Right you are borderhawk: There was a time when Leftists would spew that Illegals more than economically paid their economic way for being here illegally.
From my experience, as a long serving county commissioner, I well understood that incredible statement as pure sophistry, but now, with Non Patriot Joe enticing tens of millions of Illegals into our Constitutional Republic for the Democratic Socialists' sworn "Browning of America," even the most vapid Leftists never make that foolish argument in favor of their "Undocumented Status," unless ... they are off-the-charts-stupid.

The Los Angeles fire chief a few months ago told the mayor that they had only half the resources they needed to respond to a serious wildfire. Instead of bolstering those resources Mayor Karen Bass wrote a memo calling for a further $49 Million cut in the fire department budget on top of the $17.6 million she had already cut. Anyone who tries to defend that is plain bonkers. That would be Bonkers Bob.
The fire chief may be a DEI hire, but she still has more sense than the dumb-as-a-brick mayor.

You are clueless, Little Bobbie. A very high percentage of illegal aliens are living on taxpayer handouts. The money spent in Denver was taxpayer money by the government to subsidize the living expenses of illegal aliens. In the US, the streams of money to pay for this often do not come directly from welfare. Think the massive diversion of FEMA funds for migrant housing and the vast diversion of VA funds for migrant medical care. Then there are local government funds to put them up in luxury hotels. In Germany, it is more centralized and easy to compute a number, and there 63% of all welfare spending goes to illegal alien "asylum seekers".

It looks like the people of LA think the same way I do. Over 100,000 of them have signed the petition calling for the resignation of that incompetent mayor Karen Bass.
Competent leaders DO plan to be prepared for these fires. They have their resevoirs full, not empty in fire season. They maximize available water by utilizing dams, not blowing them up like the Democrats have done. They properly fund their fire departments, not leave them with half of the firefighters they need and over half of their fire trucks not available because they need repairs. They properly fund and carry out brush clearance, not do only 12,000 of the 90,000 acres Newsom promised. They pre-deploy fire trucks and firefighters to vulnerable areas when there is a weather period of high fire danger, not fail to do it because the city has cut their budget and they do not have the money for the overtime. The owner of the Los Angeles Times has admitted he made a big mistake in endorsing the incompetent Karen Bass for mayor. but Bolshevik Bob, our woke troll, will never shy away from backing these awful incompetent politicians.

Commented on Big LiesIt was a clear case of the Center - Left Coalition, a political amalgamation of 2 Democratic Socialists and 2 confirmed RINO county commissioners, who swap votes to share power; employing their combined Left leaning, and inextricably vapid voting block to conveniently waste another 500,000.00 of the public's money to further and needlessly invest in the poorly planned and unneeded project of the grandest extreme - the New Eastern Elementary School Positioned at the Lowest Point of 28 Acres on Hudnell and 264 Business - where spending no money would have conveniently sufficed.
This power move by the Center - Left Coalition of Beaufort County Commissioners was a completely thoughtless assertion "bipartisan power" to the point of incredible sophistry, because wasting that 1/2 million dollars served NO PURPOSE whatsoever to my completely Conservative mind. We should all shake our heads in disbelief, and then develop the electoral wisdom to disabuse these elected RINOs from their coalition of choice, where swapping votes to share power with Democratic Socialists, on the Beaufort County Commission, is all they could ever fathom how to govern.

Events like this are such that few planned for it. Don’t be so hard on them. It can, and will happen in BC. We are one Cat 5 hurricane from looking just like LA.
When that happens, If you like, I’ll be happy to spit in your face so you can see how it feels when your trailer is knocked off its blocks. Maybe then we can hold up help to see if you built in a flood plain or ignored climate change and endangered your community. Maybe we count the women and black first responders so we can say minorities are not up to white men. Cheers!

Commented on Big LiesI have been busy the past week getting ready for meetings at work so I had not read any of the articles here recently. Last night, January 14th, the Board of Commissioners held a special called meeting to vote on this land issue. When it was over the City of Washington got their cake and ate it too.
The City was paid $125,000 an acre for some really horrible low wet land. They also got to keep the park they have behind the old PS Jones School. The county could have just given them the park and the City would have been happy, but we let them have the park and paid them $500,000 of your tax dollars too. I thought this land swap issue was a no brainer. Everyone I have spoken to said the same thing as me, swap the land. The City has already put a park and bathrooms on it. They have effectively taken control of it, why not make it formal?

Great editorial and spot on! The WSJ points out that the Democrat politicians are trying to deflect from their own piss-poor management and governance when they try to blame "climate change".
These weather conditions have existed forever. The Santa Ana winds existed when the Spanish colonists arrived in California in the 1500s and local Indians knew of them long before that. They are NOT 'climate change". The Spanish colonists gave them that name centuries ago. Ditto the El Nino / La Nina cycle that also played a big part in the weather conditions that caused the wildfires. "Climate change" is nothing but a pile stinky pile of political BS.

These interlopers are costing the American taxpayer billions. We badly need Tom Homan getting to work to send them home where they belong. Anyone who gives them taxpayer money ought to be indicted for harboring an illegal alien. Cut off their gravy train of taxpayer money, and many of them will self-deport. We don't need thsee parasites.

Commented on We Now Know What is Holding Beaufort County BackIf the county is going to have an industrial park, they need to have control of who is recruited into it, not a small town that it lies outside of. Maybe the county should tell the town that it will be changed to a solid waste dump if they continue to play games about what businesses are allowed there.

The people of Los Angeles ARE suffering BECAUSE Newsom, Bass, and other Democrats decided to play politics instead of properly governing. Any federal recovery resources should not be pissed away by being put into their hands. Federal resources that go DIRECT to victims, of course, should not be held up for what local politicians did, only funds that those same politicians may screw up with again.
One clear example of how these corrupt Democrats are playing politics is that while the fires are still burning, they have a special legislative session to appropriate $50 million to fight Trump politically but not a dime for firefighting or fire victims. If there is any clear example of playing politics, that is it.

So, Bozo Bob, in your view it is only "MAGA" that expects government to properly fund and staff their fire department, to have the resevoirs full and ready to go in fire season, to properly deploy their fire fighters when they is extreme fire danger, to properly manage forests to reduce fire danger, to not have over half the city's fire trucks laid up for lack of repairs, to call a local emergency in a timely manner to get federal resources involved early, and to hire firefighters on their qualifications to do the job rather than some political standard. To most of us those are common sense standards that all state and local governments should be held to.
Assistance to individuals impacted should not be held to standards they individually were not responsible for, but assistance to the governments which screwed up should be held to standards that they will function properly in the future.

Stan - Any federal funds channeled through any government unit in California must be very tightly restricted so it is not wasted by these morons. Once Trump gets some solid leadership at FEMA, maybe that is the way to route the money, but certainly not with the clowns running FEMA now. For example, they need more fire stations and trucks. Money can be specifically allocated to those purposes. There should be requirements that all wasteful and unnecessary local spending, like DEI, be eliminated. If there is local money thrown away on unnecessary crap, why should federal taxpayers pay for anything? Rebuilding money ought to be conditioned on removal of the burdensome regulations. If federal taxpayers are helping foot the bill, they should not be paying for unnecessary state or local government red tape and bureaucratic delays.
Thankfully, Speaker Johnson has already stated that restrictions need to be put on any federal assistance to prevent local waste, which the California dingbats are notorious for.

I agree. Before any disaster aid is issued to any state a full investigation is warranted to see if political leaders did anything not to the MAGA standard of stupidity.
If it takes a few weeks or months, so be it. The victims can wiat while it’s sorted out. MAGA- to sick to govern.
