The Division of Continuing Education at Beaufort County Community College will offer a class to prepare participants to be substitute teachers in the local public school system. 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Jan. 7 to 10, in Room 829 of Building 8 on the BCCC campus.

Over 6,100 toys were donated, including approximately 150 bikes. Nearly 1,500 children will be served, including 1,000 from Beaufort County, however the toy drive was also able to assist families in Hyde, Washington and Tyrrell counties.
