There were several changes to this afternoon’s forecast from the National Weather Service (NWS) which included in a slower track along North Carolina’s coastline.

RALEIGH: Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced that North Carolina has joined other Atlantic Coast states involved with the Special Initiative on Offshore Wind on a coordinated project to support fisheries mitigation in the development of offshore wind along the East Coast.

Our office continues to monitor the development and track of a tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico. The current forecast for this storm has it passing several hundred miles off of North Carolina’s coast, causing strong rip currents and dangerous shorebreak. No other impacts are expected.
