I decided to submit this article after a myriad of phone calls and text messages from members of the Conservative Club bullying me to cast a vote against the closing of SW Snowden and to bring up their personal agendas.

School announced yesterday that the so called forums at Chocowinity Middle School tonight (April 29,2025) and S.W. Snowden (Thursday May 1, 2025) have been cancelled pending the managers proposed budget.

Mark Clinkscales has been named the new principal of Northeast Elementary School in Beaufort County. Clinkscales, who has been with Beaufort County Schools since 2007, has served as the assistant principal of Chocowinity Middle School since July 2009.

Beaufort County Schools' results for the 2011-2012 were released Thursday by the North Carolina State Board of Education. Included in the results was the welcomed news that 9 of 13 schools in the district earned recognition under North Carolina's ABCs of Public Education.

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction has released the results for the 2010-2011 ABCs of Public Instruction. This is North Carolina’s measuring stick for student growth that predates No Child Left Behind and Adequate Yearly Progress.

Preliminary AYP, or Adequate Yearly Progress, results have been released for the 2010-2011 school year. This was the first year where dramatic increases in proficiency target goals applied. Participation target goals remained the same as in previous years.
