One of the UK's scientific advisors calls masks "comfort blankets" that do nothing to stop the spread of the virus. Dr. Colin Axon of the UK's SAGE committee pointed out that while masks can stop droplets containing the virus, that is not how the virus primarily spreads. Most transmission is by fine aerosol particles and the gaps between the mask fibers are 5,000 times larger than those particles.

The two school boards did separate but related things. The new social studies curriculum (which ought to be called socialist studies it is so biased) is impregnated with CRT. However the Brunswick County resolution banned CRT without specifically mentioning the social studies curriculum. In Moore County, an earlier resolution to ban CRT broadly had failed 4 to 3, and the resulting blowback from the public likely influenced this later unanimous resolution on the curriculum, which does not address the broader CRT issue. The Moore County school board has 3 staunch conservatives who beat incumbents in the last election and 4 RINOs who are up in the next election, and as is common with public schools, a very liberal superintendant.

Zuckerburg is trying to make Fakebook the "Big Brother" of Orwell's "1984". Orwell thought it would be government, but Zuckerburg has a private vision of totalitarianism. And, of course, in his warped vision, ANTIFA, BLM, Soros, and other Marxists are not treated as extremists. Anyone who values free speech and freedom in general should run, not walk, away from totalitarian Fakebook. If you want to use social media, use those which uphold free speech like Parler, Gab, and MeWe.

Commented on I take it back. I want my reparations! This woman is rather ignorant of history to blame the Confederate States or the south for slavery. Has she never heard of the Corwin amendment to the US Constitution for example? It was adopted by the northern controlled US Congress in March 1861 by the required supermajority, submitted to the states for ratification, and endorsed in his first Inaugural Address by Abraham Lincoln. The Corwin amendment would have enshrined slavery in the US Constitution and made it impossible to abolish from the national level. That was what the NORTH proposed in March 1861. Then there is the question of who was responsible for bringing the slaves over here. After a brief period when it was run from Bristol, England, the trans-Atlantic slave trade bringing slaves to North America was operated out of the New England states. That's right. It was the northerners who brought the slaves over. There are no recorded instances of slave trading ships based in the southern colonies or southern states. If anyone has to pay reparations, it should be the New England states because it was people from there who bought the slaves in Africa from black tribesmen like the Ashanti and transported them to North America.

Just prior to the War Between the States, 20% of southern blacks were free, and 10% of those free blacks owned slaves. This compares to 4 to 5% of the white southern population owning slaves.
Oh, and one of the slave owners in the state of Kentucky was a former and future army officer named Ulysses S. Grant. One of his later associates, William T. Sherman was not rich enough to own a slave, but it is recorded that while stationed at Fort Moultrie, Sherman rented a slave. When he took the position as superintendant of Louisiana's military academy, Sherman wrote his more well to do wife that when she came down to join him she should buy some slaves for housework.

As part of the anti-pedophile legislation put forward by Prime Minister Viktor Orban's government, any promotion of deviant lifestyles / sexual pervesions to children will be prohibited and criminalized. Since FIdesz has a supermajority in parliament, the bill is certain to pass.

Commented on NC GOP solidifies conservatives' hold on the partyConservative grassroots Republicans losing the vice chairmanship to the establishment is hardly "solidifying a hold" on the NCGOP. At the previous convention conservative Mariam Chu defeated the establishment candidate for the office of state GOP vice chairman. She did not run again. This time, the establishment candidate Susan Mills narrowly defeated the grassroots conservative candidate Sherry Womack. Conservatives clearly went backwards on one of the two major offices voted on. There was no contested race for the other office, but it was the establishment that won that one when it was last contested at the previous convention. The Carolina Journal does not have a byline. It could have been an uninformed intern who wrote that piece or it could have been major GOPe player Dallas Woodhouse who now works at Locke and tends to write on party matters.

Commented on NCHSAA in the political crosshairsThe NCHSAA needs to be reined in for its "woke" far left politics. It has decreed that boys can compete in girls sports if they claim to think they are girls. That is nothing short of cheating and it is blessed by the NCHSAA even though it is extremely unfair to real girls. A number of state legislatures have passed laws against that utter nonsense, Florida being one of the most recent. If the NCSHAA is going to play this sort of disgusting "woke" politics, maybe they just need to be disbanded.
Editor's note: We would agree that boys should not compete in girls sports or vice versa but you place the blame in the wrong place. The board was advised that current case law does not permit rules to affect such restrictions. The blame should be put where it belongs...the liberal courts and a laggard legislature. Remember SB2?

Commented on A Fraudulent PresidencyJoe Biden is trying to purge our military, particularly the officer corps just like Joe Stalin did in 1936 to his officer corps, and trying to only keep officers who are firmly politically loyal to the regime. Biden's appointee for Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin claims he wants to root out "extremism" in the military. If we was talking about jihadists, Marxists like ANTIFA and BLM, and the like that would be a good thing, but he isn't. He has appointed a hard left political hack named Bishop Garrison as his political commissar to root out "extremism". What does Garrison consider to be "extremism"? He never mentions jihadists, or the Marcist-racists like BLM and ANTIFA, but he has posted on social media that he considers everyone who voted for Donald Trump to be an "extremist". www.zerohedge.com

Commented on Poor County’s Green Jobs at Risk Over PermitRINO Dallas Woodhouse supporting a Green New Deal boondoggle is somehow not surprising, but the fact that Locke continues to employ him IS. Biomass is a bigger fraud than even offshore wind. It cuts down forests to make electricity at an inflated cost that jacks up our electric bills, while producing more CO2 per unit of energy than burning coal. Remembering Woodhouse's disastrous stint at NCGOP and his serving as the front man for a Karl Rove operation to elect Thom Tillis, I would hope that anything with his byline on it never appears in a conservative journal or site. Woodhouse is NOT a conservative.

Commented on The Patriot Purge is underway in the US Armed ForcesThe Biden regime is implementing the Soviet doctrine of politicizing the military, which is very, very dangerous for America. Lloyd Austin was clearly a radical when he was appointed and even testified about conducting a political witch hunt in the military during his confirmation. Those idiots Thom Tillis and Richard Burr voted to confirm him anyway. That is a big reason why conservatives need to work hard to nominate a conservative like Ted Budd to replace Burr, not a squishy establishment moderate like Walker or McCrory.

So-called "Critical race theory" is a very racist doctrine that should not be allowed, much less promoted in schools. Unfortunately, we have a racist governor who wants to see this racism drilled into our children, and he would veto any such legislation in North Carolina. It is at the local school board level that elected officials need to stand up to stop this nonsense that goes directly against the color-blind teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King.

Mark Robinson has issued a statement that he is not running for Senate. He was never planning on it, and this fantasy of conservative Freedom Caucus member Ted Budd doing a kamakazi mission for the establishment has been just nuts all along. Why Some outlets like Big League Politics and First in Freedom Daily ran with it is concerning because it never made any sense whatsoever. It was a smear all along and it seems to have originated with McCrory operatives who were both trying to draw another conservative into the race to split the conservative vote and to hurt Budd, who is most conservatives' next choice should Lara Trump not get in the race.

The MSM is playing their usual coverup game to control the narrative on this terror incident for their own political purposes. First it was withholding the identity of the shooter for a grossly unreasonable period of time to let gun control and white supremacy memes flourish. Now they are withholding the contents of the shooters social media posts. Those are being reported on talk radio, but they are hard to find in the MSM. It turns out that the shooter posted about his allegiance to ISIS, his hatred of Trump, his hatred of white people who he considered anti-Islam, lots of Muslim religious fervor, and his desire to kill people. All of his victims were white. What does that tell you about his motives? America needs immigration control, not gun control, but the Democrats want to let lots of others like this despicable terrorist shooter into our country with no real vetting.
