Then there are the political machines like Tamany Hall in New York back in the day or the Mayor Daley operation in Chicago that likely stole the presidency for the Democrats in 1960. Or the Sonny Boy Joyner machine or the Ponder machine or the DCNA in North Carolina, or the illegal ballot harvesting in multiple counties of southeastern NC that still goes on. Or you could look at LBJ's first election to the US Senate, when a county run by his allies held their count out to the end, giving Johnson enough votes for a narrow come from behind victory. The odd thing was that at the end of the poll books it showed that hundreds of voters were marked as having voted in exact alphabetical order.

"Get woke, go broke" applies to society as a whole, as well as corporations. If we follow this "woke" green agenda, it will mean higher prices for lots of things - energy, cars, and everything that depends on energy and vehicles. The hero of this story, Tim Ballard, is under attack because he is exposing things that the far left and the globalists do not want exposed. The far left has their own attack on children ongoing, and a UN agency recently advocated that children should be allowed to give sexual consent at extremely young ages. If we have extra money, then it needs to be returned to the taxpayers, not put in this woke slush fund. The head of that "NC Innovation" is the one who brought obnoxious woke concepts to Truist Bank when he ran it, and would do the same to this slush fund. We do not need to be giving money to slime balls like that. Give it back to taxpayers or at least fund something that will get taxpayers off the hook for local taxes, like school construction.

Hydro electricity from dams is usually lumped in as "renewable" but is a cheap and reliable conventional source of power, unlike expensive and unreliable wind and wolar.

Even leftwing filmmaker Michael Moore gets it on the huge problems with wind and solar and biomass energy. He is certainly no conservative, but he has put out a documentary entitled "Planet of the Humans" that explains why wind, solar, and biomass are bad for the environment and bad for electric ratepayers. I know you would not even consider listening to scientists on why the global warming theory makes no sense, but will you watch a film from the top leftwing filmmaker in America on why wind, solar, and biomass are bad for us?

One other "renewable" source of energy besides hydro that is reliable and cheap is geothermal, which countries like Kenya and St. Kitts and Nevis are now developing.

Wind turbines, especially for offshore wind, are also highly vulnerable to hurricanes, and Roy Cooper is bound and determined to line our coast with these whale-killing eyesores. Wind turbines are also very fickle on generating electricity. For multiple days this month, a heat dome stretching from Texas to the Canadian praries has meant little wind and almost zero wind energy production across a very wide area and at a time that there is high demand for electricity. The same thing happened in months long "wind droughts in Europe that caused a collapse in electricity production by wind turbines over a prolonged period. Both wind and solar are vulnerable, expensive, and unreliable.

Mark Robinson at least says the right things on tax and spend issues, although he has not been in an office that gives him an actual record on those things like Folwell.
