Mr. Brown is correct. A liberal arts degree isn't for everyone. One should follow their passion in life and there are many ways to make a living, no college required. However I would keep in mind that an education isn't really about earning a living. Is it? Mr. Brown is aware. He is smart enough to know an education allows one to reach their full potential in life regardless of vocation.

So what is he really writing about? On the one hand, the notion that an education can harm you is absurd. That can't be it, but he clearly has an agenda. He seems concerned that if one learns the truth about such subjects as history, sociology, biology, the arts and human sexuality to name a few, one will be harmed. Fact, art cant hurt you. Neither can knowledge. What you do with the knowledge is another subject for another time
But don't ever let a man so ashamed of our past and who we are tell you not to educate yourself. Only a very weak and fearful man would make such a suggestion.
