The problem is the guilt by association. Candidates attend an event sponsored by two major GOP organizations and one minor one and it happens to be held in Harvey's back yard. That is the Democrats connection between Harvey and these judicial candidates and it is mighty thin.

The question of who, if anybody, the city attorney consulted before drawing up this contract is interesting. A government body operates legally as a body, and apparently the whole body was never consulted on what they wanted in such a contract. If the city attorney conspired with a smaller portion of the city council, both acted very improperly.

Then there is the Open Meetings Law, which requires notice to the public before an action like this is taken. The City Attorney is conniving to thwart the Open Meetings law.

This whole thing just stinks from so many directions. It looks like a lot of the problem is a bad city attorney.

BTW, I hope someone is linking this thread on Face Book to get more exposure.

Ken Paxton has been a very successful and conservative Attorney General. Yes, the RINOs and Democrats in the House tried to impeach him for frivolous reasons, but the real Republicans in the Senate voted down that impeachment. His wife just made a great TV ad that urges voters to vote the entire GOP ticket, including her ex.

What is the alternative, TalaFREAKo? The moron who thinks there are 6 genders and that God is non-binary. The man who just disappeared off the campaigm trail for 11 days with no real excuse?

Monica Davis and Jennifer Cornelius were two of the three liberals supported in the primary by the main liberal power on the school board, Carolyn Walker. The other was Austin Garrison. Two out of three won, expanding Walker's liberal clique. Those two, both from the teacher clique took seats from pro-parent conservatives. To get a decent school board back, conservatives have a lot of work ahead in 2028.

Carolyn Walker and Monica Davis were Democrats most of their lives until shortly before they decided to run for the school board. The leopard does not change its spots. Both are still functionally Democrats. Don't know if the same may be true on Cornelius. She certainly does not sound like a conservative or a Republican.

Beaufort County lost two good school board members in Don Schreve and Steven Rader, both solid no-nonsense Republicans.

Roy Cooper was a disaster as governor, both from corruption and incompetence. A good example is the badly screwed up hurricane relief here in eastern North Carolina. He would be a disaster as a senator, a yes-man for the far left Democrat leadership.

One local parent I know had to take her daughter out of Beaufort County schools due to a politically biased teacher at the Early College High School. That teacher not only injected "wokeness" into her teaching but grading students who disagree with it down, and those who agreed with it up. We do NOT need teachers like that in our schools at all, and particularly not on committees reviewing the curriculu,.

Cooper would be a terrible senator. Whatley would be so-so. that is our choice. =We could have done better in the primary. but that is over,.

The High Point University poll showed the race tied. Others show Cooper ahead. Turnout will be the key. we had a conservative who had been written off by the media, the PACs, and the pundits, John East. win for US Senate in NC in 1880. Whether an establishment Republican like Whatley can do that, we will just have to see.

The lengths that Bob will go to promote socialism are astounding. He has a very bad case of TDS. The issue before our country is not one man but our whole way of life. The threat is socialism, and "Bob" is just one of socialism's useful idiots. If memory serves, it was Lenin who coined that term "useful idiot" but "Bob" sure performs that role.

Bob's false tale of gas prices in Greenville are a good example of how he exagerates.

I wonder what Roy Cooper's reason was for denying much of the hurricane relief to eastern North Carolina while he was governor? Was it just incompetence or something more sinister?

Spanberger is just a current Democrat, a pathological liar who tells you what they think you want to hear at election time, and then ignores their promises and goes full blown socialist once in office. There is little doubt that "Undocumented Democrat" Frankie Waters wants to replace himself on the county commission with a "Frankie Waters 2.0". Waters first tried to recruit Darrin Armstrong, vetted Armstrong, and approved him. Armstrong said he did not know if he had enough time to serve as a county commissioner, but then got recruited by a cadre of Raleigh liberals to run for NC House. That Waters connection makes me think Armstrong will probably turn out like a Howard Chapin or a Zeno Edwards in the NC House.

After Darrin Armstrong got away from him, John Edwards was Frankie Waters' backup. That tells you all you need to know about John Edwards.

Let me give you another heads up on another fake "Republican" likely to be coming down the pike in 2028. Liberal party switcher school board member Carolyn Walker and her clique are trying to reinvent former longtime liberal Democrat school board member Mack Hodges as a "Republican" to run him against a real Republican for the school board. Hodges is even more blatant than their school board candidate Monica Davis who was a Democrat most of the time she has lived in Beaufort County, but whom they ran as a "Republican" in the last primary.

The situation with our county commission race illustrates how badly "limited voting" is serving Beaufort County. With two liberals not up this year - admitted Democrat Langley and closet Democrat / fake "Republican" Randy Walker - and two conservatives, it will take electing two pro-taxpayer candidates this election to get a majority. As the only Democrat running, Booth is likely a shoe-in, which means taxpayer oriented candidates have to win both of the other seats.

If we had the three votes we would have in a normal election system, the choices would be clear - Deatherage, Woolard, and Edwards. With only two votes, it would be Deatherage and Woolard. But we only have one, and so have to pick the best and keep our fingers crossed that the second seat goes to someone who can work with the conservatives. With Deatherage's strong record, that has to be him, but we also have to hope Woolard overcomes Edwards.

Of course, limited voting itself is another reason to vote Deatherage as he is the commissioner trying to reopen that bad deal struck by former commissioners, and use a recent US Supreme Court case as the trigger to do that. Deatherage's proposal makes great common sense for the people of Beaufort County, but Democrats Langley and Booth and liberal fake "Republicans" Walker and Waters voted it down. Waters and Walker marked themselves as 5th columnists by voting not to seek legal assistance to get us out from under limited voting. They betrayed the county and they betrayed Republicans.

The fact that Edwards is being supported by fake Republicans Frankie Water sand Randy Walker, both of whom were active Democrats for years before they conveniently did a fake "switch" to "Republican" for opportunistic reasons, speaks volumes about Edwards. Edwards appears to be cut from the same cloth as Walker and Waters.. While still better than Booth, he is not in the same leaague as Deatherage or Woolard.

Tillis has been a terrible "5th column" traitor, but even worse has been Phil Berger. Berger sold his soul for cash to the special interests, and as a result has helped Roy Cooper get his top liberal agenda items through the General Assembly - repealing the Bathroom privacy law (HB2), adopting the NC Green New Deal (HB951), and passing the Obamacare Medicaid expansion. Fortunately, conservatives took Berger out in his primary this year, in spite of all his special interest money.

Unfortunately, on his way out, Undocumented Democrat Phil Berger targeted a number of conservatives around the state, and special interest money took some of them down. Berger tried to rind and fund candidates against all the Freedom Caucus leadership. One of those was here in our own 79th district House seat, where we will now have a warmed over Marc Basnight Democrat, now posturing as a "Republican" instead of the hard charging head of the conservative Freedom Caucus.We will not be able to do anythng about that for another two years.

This is great to see. Maybe Europe is starting to wake up to the cancer of illegal immigration. The mass demonstrations against illegal immigration in Spain and the UK are also encouraging.

Okay, lets look at what the polls say voters are concerned about. One is crime, and here the GOP has a big advantage. Democrats, including Roy Cooper have a record of being soft on crime, while President Trump has delivered on reducing crime. Illegal immigration is also a big concern, and again Republicans have delivered while Democrats just make the situation worse. Illegal immigration also raises the cost of living in many areas including housing, health care, and insurance.

Inflation is a big issue, and this started galloping out of control under Biden. To really get a handle on this, we need to cut deficit spending, which is a major driver of inflation. A majority of Republicans favor such cuts while almost all Democrats oppose them.
