It all makes me sad for Beaufort County.
It is amazing how uneducated our citizens strive to be. It doesn't need to be this way; they actually go out of their way to be dumbed down. Stan, Hood, you men keep pushing for those of us who can't. You know where the bodies are buried. |

Commented On An Educated Voter is an Asset to Beaufort County
Actual numbers aren’t important to most voters, like Mr. Taylor stated, so let me state my position differently. The waste I plan on cutting for the Sheriff’s Office is everything that doesn’t work – everything that does not protect property and lives of our citizens, and that which hinders deputy performance.
I intend on setting policy in place to correct any issues deputies may have dealing with the public or other agencies in Beaufort County. I will encourage deputies to work with the Police and Highway Patrol to create a safe environment for everyone. My opponent thinks that he can bully and twist the truth to gain votes, again I ask the public to consider his record. He has proved himself to be many things, but a businessman he is not, nor an honest man. Voting starts in four days. Correct problems in our county, vote Donald Dixon for Sheriff. |

I was sincerely saddened to see our Board this past Tues.Evening spend nearly an hour responding to a political letter instead of doing the business of the people.
As I stated at the meeting, I fully support Beaufort County Schools to the best of my ability. Also, it is always my goal to be good stewards of our time and resources as board members. As the political season continues, I hope we can keep politics out of our board meetings ! |

I was going to use an alias but I figured why bother!! Last time I made a comment I used an alias and everyone knew who I was and had my name published because of the person running this papers bias. Hood, I read your comment and I have important comments. #1: You are talking flippantly about “The pearly gates” when you yourself said that I follow a “mythical creature” who you referred God to. So please… don’t use God & Godly mentions or referrals of Him in your political spins!! You only talk about “religious things” when you want people to have a reverence for you and your opinion. You’re loosing your grip on people whose eyes are being opened to you. When I read part of this I agreed, educating people on the importance of local politics was awesome. Hats off to you. But that quickly turned to my head spinning from the “crap” & lies you’re telling people about the only true BC Republican GOP in NC. I have attended these meetings & it was NOT stated like you said. Stop lying!

Commented On NC Senate wants more say in appointment power
This appears to be a more diversified way of handling this instead of having just one man having total authority. However it also takes authority away from the elected government official whom the citizens have put into office. More discussion needs to happen to get a better idea of the outcome for the future of our state.
