Where but a banana republic does an elected official in a top executive office use government power to shut down a major political event of his principle opposition party in an election year? The latest banana republic is North Carolina and its de facto dictator is Comrade Roy Cooper.

After giving far left rioters free rein to loot and burn with no virus protection measures, Cooper's regime has forbidden the NCGOP, which had very extensive virus protection measures in place, to hold its annual state convention in Greenville. That tyrannical move also cost Greenville and its businesses a million dollars in revenue.

Worse still was the wussy reaction of the NCGOP and its state chairman. If they had the slightest bit of competence and savvy, they would have been in federal court to save the state GOP convention immediately after Cooper did a politically motivated hatchet job on the Republican National Convention that was supposed to be in Charlotte.

    Cooper is playing power politics.
