poll shows populist right surging in Netherlands after farmer protests | Eastern North Carolina Now

After months of protests by farmers against the anti-farm policies of the globalist Dutch government, populist nationalist parties are surging in the polls.  The most recent poll shows parties of the right in the first, second, third and fourth positions, with populist right parties in the first, third, and fourth positions.  Parties of the current governing coalition are facing heavy losses.

The top party in a new election is the Party for Freedom of veteran populist leader Gert Wilders which has a heavy emphasis on opposition to illegal immigration. In a new election, it would win 21 seats, up from the 17 it currently holds.  Running second is the traditional party of the right, the VVD, which heads the current government under its globalist leader Mark Rutte, which would win 20 seats in a new election, down from the 38 it holds currently.  In third place would be the populist / nationalist right JA21, an offshoot of the populist / nationalist Forum for Democracy.  JA21 would win 15 seats, up from the 3 it now holds. (the Forum for Democracy, itself, would win 5 seats, down from the 8 it now holds).  In fourth place would be the rightist BBB which supports farmers rights, which would win 13 seats, up from the 1 it now holds.

The two other major coalition partners with the VVD would also suffer heavy losses.  The center-left pro-EU D66 would lose half of the 24 seats it now holds and be down to 12, coming in fifth.  The center-right Christian Democratic Appeal would lose two thirds of its seats, dropping from 15 seats to 5.  D66 is the party pushing hardest against the farmers.

Two other christian democratic parties further to the right which are not part of the current government would fare well.  CristenUnie would gain a seat, moving from 5 seats to 6, and the Reformed Party would also gain a seat moving from 4 to 5 seats.  The "Reformed" in the party name refers to the Dutch Reformed Church, and this party was the last in Europe to drop its opposition to giving the vote to women, which it only did a few years ago.
