Mayor Sadler wants to put low cost housing downtown after spending over a hundred thousand dollars of taxpayers money to keep it out of his own neighborhood. What a self serving, and downtown destroying corrupt politician. I wonder if "pro business" candidate Ellen Brabo will keep playing footsies with Sadler when he is preparing to launch a major attack to damage our downtown business district? And what about Mohammed, the owner of the Mulberrry House who has been such a big supporter of Sadler? Sadler is gunning to wreck his business by causing a deterioration in downtown safety. Something Sadler went ballistic to keep out of his own neighborhood, he now wants to place downtown.

We have a rigged and rotten system for adopting curricula in the Beaufort County Schools, controlled by the top bureaucrat, the superintendant. Cheeseman appoints a committee of people he selects to recommend a curriculum. They send only one option to the school board to be rubberstamped. The school baard members are clearly not even shown the curriculum, just told about it, and what is told is often just plain wrong, like the Curriculum director claiming Bridges was not common core. Parents and taxpayers should not tolerate this sham.

North Carolina law requires schools to have students memorize the multiplication tables, as math has been taught for centuries, and which works. Is that being done? If so, students will learn math. Why confuse them with this wacky garbage? And why does a school board that is supposed to represent the citizens approve such stupid garbage, paid for with our tax dollars. Yes, we need a fruitbasket turnover of the 5 school board members next up for election.

Favoritism or, in some cases, cancel culture in local government contracting seems to be rampant in Beaufort County. Usually, it is just bad public and fiscal policy, but the city may have actually bumped it up into criminal court with their underhanded scheme on Brooks' lots.

The school board has the same problem, with the board acting as rubber stamps for the superintendant and the superintendant playing politics with public contracts. In two recent examples when contracts came up for renewal, Beaufort County Schools cut loose existing local contractors who were the low bidders and doing a good job, to send those contracts to out of town bidders who came in at a higher price. That happened on a grounds maintenance contract and on a website contract. Why would Cheeseman want to spend more money to go outside the county? Who is pulling his strings?

Beaufort County local government units need better and more detailed standards for outside contracts and the bid process.

As to Bobbie, one wonders if he is a Soros troll, a Putin troll, or a Xi troll. What is very clear is that he is a know-nothing.
