War on free speech: EU parliament says opposing illegal migration is "hate speech" | Eastern NC Now

A recent step by the EU toward a totalitarian state is a warning to the US, where the left is pushing the same issue, criminalization of free speech on political subjects, in this case the opposition to illegal migration.  The EU parliament has voted to authorize prosecution of four of its own members, all of them Members of the European Parliament from Poland's largest politcal party, the populist / nationalist Law and Justice Party., for "hate speech" for liking and retweetng a campaign video opposing illegal immigration produced by their own party.

During the campaign for Poland's 2018 local elections, the Law and Justice Party produced a campaign video accusing their largest rival of being soft on illegal immigration and pointing out the dangers of illegal immigration to Polish society.  Four sitting members of the European parliament from the Law and Justice Party liked the video on social media and retweeted it.  A left wing activist who is a felon convicted of embezzlement, repeatedly filed requests with Polish prosecutors to charge the four with "hate speech" but those prosecutors have rejected prosecution saying it was unfounded.

Now five years later, and the leftwing activist having moved to Norway, he has found an activist iudge in Warsaw willing to push this political witch hunt.  The judge applied to the European Parliament to waive the parliamentary immunity of the four members so they could be charged.  The EU parliament's committee recommended that the request be rejected, but the full palriament voted to waive their parliamentary immunity.

So in EU countries, speaking out against illegal migration can get a political leader prosecuted criminally with the approval of the EU parliament.

This follows Macron's government in France prosecuting a French Senator for "hate speech" for a social media post of "immigration kills"  after an illegal alien brutally murdered a young French girl.

Here in the US, the Peoples Republic of New York is now using "surveillance" to "collect data" on people's "hate speech" on social media.
