CLF Counsel Elliot Engstrom Joins Heartland Institute Panel | Eastern North Carolina Now

 Nashville     Civitas Center for Law and Freedom (CLF) Lead Counsel Elliot Engstrom will be a featured panelist at the Heartland Institute's Emerging Issues Forum on Dec. 9 in Nashville, Tennessee.

 The panel will cover pressing issues in education such as education savings accounts, Common Core, and school choice. Engstrom will be joined by Mississippi State Senator Angela Hill and Heartland Institute Senior Fellow Bruno Behrend. The panel will be moderated by Logan Pike, the Heartland Institute's state government relations manager.

 Engstrom and the Center for Law and Freedom have been engaged in several efforts involving education in North Carolina, including the battle over family privacy that culminated in the passage of a law limiting the intrusive reach of the Department of Public Instruction. He has also conducted research on whether and to what extent school districts in North Carolina allow students to opt out of Common Core assessments.

 The panel is one part of the Heartland Institute's Emerging Issues Forum — South. The event brings together elected officials, policy analysts, and government affairs professional from across the country. Attendees will hear from free-market experts as we explore innovative solutions to the top public policy issues that will face the states in 2016 and beyond.

 The event begins with a VIP cocktail reception on the evening of Tuesday, December 8, and then proceeds to the keynote address and policy sessions the following day from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
