That's what recent tax reforms have delivered to North Carolina, according to a new academic study released today by the Civitas Institute.

The study finds that allowing the 1-cent sales tax to expire in 2011, unemployment insurance reforms in 2013 and the 2013 income tax cuts each had statistically significant positive impacts on NC's economy.

In perhaps the most rigorous study to date of NC's tax reforms, economists applied cross-state findings regarding sales and income taxes and unemployment insurance programs to determine that our state's fiscal policy changes over the last four years have creates tens of thousands of jobs and increased wages by hundreds of millions of dollars. In short: More Jobs and Bigger Paychecks.
