French presidential race back to Macron and LePen | Eastern North Carolina Now

France's presidential race in its last few days is back to where it started according to the latest polls, a two person race between globalist president Macron and populist / nationalist anti-immigration challenger Marine LePen of the National Rally.  Macron is slightly ahead but his trendline in down and LePen's is up.  The first round will be held Sunday with the runoff next month.  Polls for a runoff between Macron and LePen show a competitive race.  LePen is polling much better in being viewed as a leader than in her last runoff with Macron.

A poll from the respected British polling firm YouGov. shows the runoff a statistical tie within the margin of error, while a Brazilian polling firm gives LePen the lead in both the first round and the runoff.

With her positions on immigration well known, LePen has been largely attacking Macron on economic issues but continues her strong anti-immigration stands.  Macron's media exposure during the Ukraine crisis has benefitted his candidacy, while LePen is surging as voters on the right shift from the traditional conservative Republicains and the new populist / nationalist anti-immigration Reconquest Party of Eric Zemmour to LePen.

Curiously, Macron has refused to participate in a runoff debate.  His performance in the debate with LePen in the last election is regarded as having cemented his victory, but now he refuses to debate.
