WASHINGTON, D.C.     Following the failed vote on pro-abortion legislation proposed by Democrats, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez has issued a statement that democracy has failed and that our nation may never recover.

"This is a dark, dark day in our nation's history. We cannot just sit idly by and let this nation be ruled by a tiny 51-49 minority," said AOC crying while leaning on a capitol fence. "How can we call ourselves a country if the majority of Democrats want something but are outnumbered by a few Republicans? That's just not democratic at all."

"What we've witnessed today where Republicans outvoted the will of Democrats is nothing short of violence. It's like January 6th all over again," said AOC somberly. "It is utterly incomprehensible to fathom what has been done here. A majority of democratically-elected representatives decided against legislation proposed by other democratically-elected representatives. It's insanity!"

Many of the congresswoman's colleagues tried to explain to her that 51 votes are actually more than 49, but AOC was not convinced stating that they had all just been radicalized by the Republicans.

At publishing time, AOC was spotted crying again after a larger minority of conservative Justices voted to let abortion go back to being a state issue.
