A funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday January 27, 2013 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington officiated by Rev. Henry Horne.

   Mr. Charlie Norman “Posse” Carrow, age 81, a resident of 1564 West Barr Road, Chocowinity, died Thursday afternoon, January 24, 2013 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

    A funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday January 27, 2013 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington officiated by Rev. Henry Horne. Burial will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Ricky Carrow, Tony Carrow, Paul Carrow, Stephen Carrow, Kevin Carrow and Jeff Carrow will serve as pallbearers. Perry Carrow, Jason Smith, Johnny Ray Marslender and David Marslender will serve as honorary pallbearers.

    Mr. Carrow was born October 10, 1931, son of the late Charlie Harvey Carrow and Myrtle Maybell Edwards Carrow. On April 7, 1950, he married the former Lillian Estelle Nobles who survives. Mr. Carrow was a retired farmer. He was a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He loved to play the guitar and sing.

    In addition to his wife, Lillian of the home, he is survived by his children: James Carrow and wife Jalaine of Washougal, WA, Janice Buck and husband Glavin of Chocowinity, Judy Upton and husband Tommy of Washington and Jenny Carrow and friend Lisa Shaw of Chocowinity; his brothers: Rusty Carrow and wife Melba, Snodie Carrow and wife Betty, Rayvon Carrow and wife Carrie Jean and Johnny Carrow and wife Debbie all of Chocowinity; his sisters: Ernestine Armstrong of Tucker, GA; Christine Marslender and husband Johnny of Chocowinity and Delores Cusick and husband Larry of Rocky Mount; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Arthur Ray Carrow and his sisters: Shelby Jean Carrow and Jessie Mae Carrow.

    The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 3:00 PM until the funeral hour at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Relay for Life Team, 2110 Old New Bern Road, Chocowinity, NC 27817 or Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church, P.O. Box 298, Simpson, NC 27859.
